Samsung Gear S will be available on UK for £330

If you alive in UK and waiting for standalone smartwatch that’s working without a phone then your wait will be over on October 24. The Samsung Gear S watch plus phone will be available a week after the Galaxy Note 4 hits. The Tizen-running smartwatch has its own 3G modem so it can do calls and use mobile data on its own, no need for a connection to a smartphone, unlike the majority of smartwatches out there.

The Gear S has a large 2″ screen, a 360 x 480 Super AMOLED, a dual-core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB storage. It can play music to your Bluetooth headset and make calls even without one. And it’s IP67-certified so light sporting activity is no problem. The Gear S comes in Black and White but only the Black version will be stocked at first.



MobileFun is taking pre-orders at £330 ($530), while Clove is asking £340 ($545). Clove notes that black Samsung Gear S units will be available on October 24, the availability of the white option is yet to be confirmed.

LG announces limited edition red and gold versions of G2

The gold-painted LG G2 leaked a couple of days ago, but as it turns out it wasn't the only new color the Korean manufacturer has been working on. The Korean company has launched two new colors for the LG G2, Red and the Gold. The new colors are introduced by LG to commemorate the occasion of Lunar New Year, which is approaching in around 2 weeks.



The limited edition gold and red LG G2 features a textured back cover instead of the usual plastic back cover on the standard G2. The new back is not fingerprint prone and said to offer better grip in your hand.

The red and gold paintjobs of the LG G2 carry the same price tag as the standard models. In Korea, the smartphone costs about $496 for the 16GB model, while the 32GB version is priced at $562. LG's new color additions will go on sale in Singapore, starting from January 18 and the device will be available from Starhub, SingTel and M1 for SGD898 (around $701).



LG G2 comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display, 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (4.4 KitKat update rolling out), 2GB RAM, 13MP OIS rear camera, 2.1MP front facing camera, 16GB/32GB storage and 3,000 mAh battery.

Sony announces smaller Xperia Z1 flagship device with same 20.7MP camera

Sony has just announced the Xperia Z1 Compact at CES 2014. What is notable in this release unlike most mini flagship variants, it features a specs sheet that doesn't compromise, and has almost identical specs to the Xperia Z1 flagship. The Xperia Z1 Compact packs the same waterproof, metal and glass design, supercharged quad-core processor, 4G LTE connectivity and 20-megapixel camera as the top-end Xperia Z1. The Compact packs a 4.3-inch 720p display, which is a step down from the Full HD of its brother, but the smaller screen size means it doesn't need as many pixels to remain sharp. Indeed, it has a pixel density of 340 pixels per inch,



While the HTC One Mini and Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini both bear the names of their elitist brethren, both models actually come with considerably watered down specs that won't keep hardcore tech fans happy. The Z1 Compact provides cutting-edge tech without forcing you to have a phone so big you can camp under it. Size aside, the Z1 compact is almost identical to its bigger brother. It has the same all-glass front and back, with the one-piece aluminium band running around the edge.



It'll arrive sporting the last but one version of Android, known as 4.3 Jelly Bean. At the time of writing, Sony wasn't able to give a firm word on when the compact, or indeed the full-sized Z1 would see an update to the latest 4.4 KitKat, but suggested that it will be coming at some point. The Z1 Compact comes with the same supercharged processor as its larger sibling, rather than a weaker, cheaper chip. It's a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.

The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is due to go on sale in the UK and wider Europe in the middle of February. It also hasn't said how much it will be, but did suggest that its similar specs to the Z1 indicates a similar price - expect it to be somewhere between £400-£450 ($650-740). Sony Xperia Z is now on sale in US

Japanese mobile phone maker Sony has finally decided to make the Xperia Z flagship Android smartphone available for purchase in the United States through its online store, with a price tag of $630 attached to it. Good news is it is unlocked. Bad news is it will only work on AT&T’s HSPA+ network and there is no LTE here. All color options are available: black, white, and purple, and the phone comes with free 2-day shipping. Model number of this Xperia Z is C6602, keep in mind that LTE Xperia Z will carry the tag C6606.

The Xperia Z is Sony's flagship phone for 2013, and continues the screen size and resolution arms race with its 5in, 1,920x1,080 display. It also has all the specifications you would expect from a high-end smartphone, including a quad-core 1.5GHz processor and a camera with a huge 13-megapixel sensor.

Sony also dropped the price tag of the Xperia ZL, which was launched with support for North American LTE networks packed inside. This device is currently available for purchase through Sony at $629.99, the same as Xperia Z. Despite the price cut, Newegg is still cheaper at $610 and has all three colours in stock.

LG Optimus 4X HD is now available in Bangladesh

Here's a surprise to the citizens of the United Kingdom. A few days ago we informed you about the pre-order for Sony XPERIA S in UK. Clove and Play.com are currently offering the XPERIA S pre-orders on £468 and £450 respectively, while the Carphone Warehouse UK has the cheapest price tag of £430.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 & 10.1 Coming to India in June, Price is Rs. 28k & 35k

While the entire world eagerly waiting for 2 new Galaxy Tab successor- Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Indian are the 1st to get the good news. Local head of Samsung Mobile Ranjit Yadav recently stated that the new Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 tablets would be available in India from the next month. He also mentions the price plan for this two Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet. Price of Galaxy Tab 8.9 will be around Rs. 28000 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be Rs. 35000.
