Samsung unveils Galaxy Note 3 Neo, comes with full suite of S Pen features

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo and Note 3 Neo LTE+ got officially unveiled by Samsung Poland. Note 3 Neo is Samsung's trimmed down version of the flagship Galaxy Note 3. It has a 5.5-inch super AMOLED display with a reduced resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It provides the well-known S Pen experience at a lower price tag.

Samsung basically repackaged the Galaxy Note II, threw in some new features and renamed the device as a "lite" version of the Galaxy Note 3. Compared to the original Galaxy Note 3, both smartphones have pretty much the same weight, thickness and battery capacity, but the Neo is slightly shorter in length and width. Design-wise, the new smartphone is almost a complete match of the original Note 3, complete with the faux-leather plastic back.



The LTE+ Note 3 Neo model uses a hexa-core setup with a dual-core 1.7GHz ARM Cortex-A15 unit on top of a 1,3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7. The regular variant, which supports HSPA+ 3G, has a 1.6GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 configuration. Chipset differences aside, the two versions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo both feature a 5.5” 720p Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in memory (about 11GB will be available to the user), and a microSD card slot. The main camera is an 8MP unit with BSI sensor, capable of capturing 1080p videos. A 2MP front-facing unit will be in charge of video calls and selfies.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo will with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and TouchWiz on the top of that. Design wise you can pick up the handset in black, white or green. Apart from this it has the usual raft of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as NFC. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean runs the show with TouchWiz on top. It measures 148.4 x 77.4 x 8.6mm, while its weight tips the scale at 162.5 grams. The phablet is powered by a 3100mAh battery.

The phone is expected to be available in International markets from March 2014 onwards. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 Neo LTE+ edition is priced at €530 ($720) whilst the quad-core HSPA+ edition is listed for €499.00 ($680) in Germany at this moment. These prices are for unlocked handsets but there’s currently no detail on when the handsets will ship. I have to say that the price is not too attractive when Amazon US is selling original Samsung Galaxy Note 3 just for $675; that is unlocked, LTE, 32GB, 1080p display and 4K video capable device.

LG announces limited edition red and gold versions of G2

The gold-painted LG G2 leaked a couple of days ago, but as it turns out it wasn't the only new color the Korean manufacturer has been working on. The Korean company has launched two new colors for the LG G2, Red and the Gold. The new colors are introduced by LG to commemorate the occasion of Lunar New Year, which is approaching in around 2 weeks.



The limited edition gold and red LG G2 features a textured back cover instead of the usual plastic back cover on the standard G2. The new back is not fingerprint prone and said to offer better grip in your hand.

The red and gold paintjobs of the LG G2 carry the same price tag as the standard models. In Korea, the smartphone costs about $496 for the 16GB model, while the 32GB version is priced at $562. LG's new color additions will go on sale in Singapore, starting from January 18 and the device will be available from Starhub, SingTel and M1 for SGD898 (around $701).



LG G2 comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display, 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (4.4 KitKat update rolling out), 2GB RAM, 13MP OIS rear camera, 2.1MP front facing camera, 16GB/32GB storage and 3,000 mAh battery.

HTC One series Android phone is now official - One X is top on the list

To showcase an attention to three distinct areas of detail: top-notch imaging, integrated Beats audio and industrial design; HTC announced ‘One’ brand for all of their Android phones. It’s like Samsung galaxy series I think. And HTC are kind enough to officially announce their MWC line-up of Android smartphones. There are four in the queue- HTC One X and One XL, the mid-range One S, and the starter One V. I will only cover HTC One X in this post. The HTC One X is a unibody device machined from white polycarbonate that uses Gorilla Glass to protect its 4.7-inch 1280x720 non-pentile Super LCD 2 display. Stunning outside appearances aside, HTC's newest features an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor for the Global edition and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core for the LTE iteration. The One X is the most powerful Android smartphone HTC have built to date. It's quite slim, too, measuring only 9,29mm.

Memory specs on the box show 1GB DDR2 and 32GB of built-in storage, 26GB of which is available to the user and an additional 25GB free for two years through DropBox.

At the back, the One X sports an 8MP snapper, which packs a special Dual Shutter camera module, which allows you to take photos while shooting 1080p video at the same time. The main camera itself rocks a 22mm wide angle lens. At the heart of its 8MP f/2.0 camera section is HTC's ImageChip silicon for clearer shots even in low light conditions.

I don’t imagine where is the position of Samsung Galaxy Note on people’s interest. You can call it a giant smartphone or small tablet as you wish. HTC Merge Suddenly goes for Pre-order in India, Letsbuy Asks Rs. 35,000 for Merge

HTC Merge was heading for Verizon as far as we know. And it was a CDMA Android phone till the pre-order announcement of Letsbuy in India. Surprisingly enough Letsbuy starts pre-ordering this Android 2.2 froyo mobile phone in India. They set the unlocked HTC Merge price at 35000 rupees($778).

According to them it is a GDMA/ GSM hybrid phone for India. It has 800 MHz CPU and 363 MB of RAM. HTC Merge uses S-LCD 4.7 inches 480 X 800 pixel display. It comes with multitouch and HTC Sense. It’s 5 megapixel camera is capable of shooting 720p HD video. Another important feature of HTC Merge is it QWERTY keyboard as slider.

LG Optimus 2X Unlocked Price is £449.99 in UK, Vodafone Offers Free in Contract

Last week we got the unlocked US price of dual core LG Optimus 2X, which is $800. Now we get the UK unlocked price from Carphone Warehouse and Expansys. Both of them are offering unlocked LG Optimus 2X cheaper than US. Carphone Warehouse sells SIM free Optimus 2X on £454.95($737). Expansys offers same on £5 less, £449.95($730).
