Verizon Galaxy Note 4 will start receiving Android 5.0 soon

Verizon hasn’t always had a very stellar track record when it comes to updating devices to the latest Android OS variant on devices. Samsung galaxy Note 4 is no different either. After having been received by both AT&T's and Sprint's respective versions of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 already, the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop is now on its way to Verizon's model.

The carrier nicknamed Big Red has published the update documentation on its website, which means the rollout of the new software is imminent (if it hasn't started already). After applying the update, you'll be on build LRX22C.N910VVRU1BOAF. The update will bring a more Material Design looking TouchWiz UI to your screen, lockscreen notifications and all the other little nuances of Lollipop that you have been eagerly waiting for. It will also bring along Verizon’s big push into the Voice over LTE, or VoLTE, with Advanced Calling 1.0. Users will also find new Slow Motion and Fast motion setting in the camera mode section, but Recording mode has been removed from the settings.



As usual with these things, keep in mind that the over-the-air rollout will be staged, so it might be a few days (or more) before your Note 4 tells you about the update. If you don't want to wait, you can try to manually check by going to Settings > About phone > Software updates.

Unlocked GSM Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is available on US via Amazon

If you just can’t wait until next week, when all major US carriers will start selling the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, you can buy the handset right now from Amazon. They are selling the international 32GB model (SM-N910), with the black version priced at $859.94 and the white version at $854.90. The gold version can also be purchased for $904.88, though that model will ship within 6 to 10 days, meaning you’re better off waiting for the official launch on October 17th. The phone also won’t work on CDMA networks like Verizon and Sprint.

Unfortunately, Amazon isn’t offering a warranty on the device, which i am not surprised considering it will be an imported unit, though you can buy a 1-year drops & spills warranty for an extra $89.99.



The Galaxy Note 4 is arguably one of the best extra-large smartphones that money can buy right now. It brings lots of improvements over the Note 3 from last year, including an enhanced display with 1440 x 2560 pixels, faster processor, better cameras (16 MP on the back, and 3.7 MP on the front), and a more useful S Pen stylus.

Samsung launches extended warranty program in the US covers drops, spills and much more

If you are interested in any of Samsung’s Galaxy S & Note series smart devices in US then I have one very good news for you. Samsung has your back should your device run into any issues. Thanks to Samsung’s new Protection Plus Mobile Elite program that the company has announced. Under this program, the warranty of the phone will be extended to two years, and Samsung will offer fixes/replacements for damage from accidental drops, electrical and mechanical failures, and replace a device within two business days. Samsung is limiting the number of times a user can claim these benefits to three, which shouldn’t be a problem considering you will probably switch to a new phone if you’ve dropped it or damaged it so many times.

With Protection Plus Mobile Elite, you will be eligible for the following:

1. Covers accidental damage from handling – drops, spills and cracked screens
2. Covers electrical and mechanical failures
3. Advanced exchange – replacement within 2 business days or less
4. 24/7/364 customer support (Closed Christmas Day)
5. Up to three (3) claims allowed during coverage period

At the moment, the Protection Plus Mobile Elite warranty is available only for the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, and the Galaxy Note 4. Extended warranty isn't free, however, as Galaxy S series owners need to shell out $99, while customers with a Galaxy Note device have to pay $129 for the service. If you need a file a claim to get the device fixed, Samsung mentions that you'll have to shell out an additional service fee, which is $75 for Galaxy S devices and $95 for a Galaxy Note handset.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is on pre-order in Bangladesh

The all-new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has now been officially unveiled many countries in the world, the people of Bangladesh will have the chance to grab their copy soon. Samsung is seemingly worried about the launch of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, and is said to be accelerating its release schedule for the Galaxy Note 4. With the aggressive pricing, Samsung is said to be targeting 15 million sales for the Galaxy Note 4 in the first month of availability, which if the manufacturer succeeds would overshadow the 11 million sales achieved by the Galaxy S5 earlier this year.



Samsung Bangladesh is starting to take Pre-order for galaxy Note 4 through their website. While the regular introductory price is set for 80,000 taka ($1030), which is quite of the limit from previous Samsung product. For you knowledge Samsung released Galaxy S5 few months ago for 60,000 taka ($775) and Galaxy Note 3 a year earlier for 69,900 taka ($900). But if you are subscriber of Grameenphone Star then you have the opportunity to grab your Note 4 for 67,500 taka ($875).

The exact release date of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 isn’t known yet.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is up for pre-order in UK

Samsung has yesterday announced that the Galaxy Note 4 will be available to pre-order in the UK from today, Sept. 19. Samsung retail stores in the UK will get first dibs on Note 4 pre-orders, while Three, Carphone Warehouse and other outlets will open up pre-orders the following Friday, Sept. 26. The Galaxy Note 4's general UK release is slated to take place in just over three weeks, on Friday Oct. 10.

The company plans to stock store shelves with Galaxy Note 4 units on October 10, three weeks from now. In South Korea, however, this could happen a bit earlier. Yesterday, we knew that SK Telecom plans to launch the phone for a pre-order sometime today and make it available for purchase on September 26.



Official pricing information for the phone is still under wraps. Earlier this month, the first pre-orders launched at €699 ($900). In addition to today's Note 4 announcement, Samsung has also confirmed that the Galaxy Note Edge will be released in select markets with UK availability to be revealed soon.

Samsung unveils Galaxy Note 4 with 5.7-inch QHD display

Known for its handwriting friendliness and screens pushing near six inches, Samsung's Galaxy Note series is the progenitor of the modern stylus-centric smartphone. It's easily the go-to choice for an Android phablet. But with LG's G3 Stylus here and the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus around the corner, Samsung surely feel the pressure. But I am happy to say that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is a worthy successor to the legendary phablet family with every feature put into overdrive. It's the first Note not to grow the screen size, which remains at 5.7", but it now has nearly 80% more pixels thanks to its new QHD resolution pushing the pixel density from 386ppi to 515ppi.



It's a Super AMOLED, of course, but it's covered by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3. For those who don't remember the Nokia N9, 2.5D glass has curved sides to make swiping from the edge smoother, and edge gestures are everywhere in Android now.

For the Samsung devotee, one feature will noticeably stand out: the Note's new frame. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha introduced a brave new world where Samsung built metal phones, and the Note 4 solidifies that choice of material by adopting actual metal trim, as opposed to the Note 3 and the S5's faux-chrome rim. It's a small, and for the average customer, negligible improvement, but side-by-side the improved material gives the handset a more solid and premium feel.

The camera department has been upgraded and the main camera now features a 16MP sensor with optical image stabilization. The front-facing camera has a 3.7MP sensor (matching the pixel count of the screen) and a fast f/1.9 aperture.



Samsung has done work to improve the S Pen and bring even more ridiculous new features. The biggest change is more accurate pressure sensitive, as well as increased levels of sensitivity to simulate writing with an actual pen more realistically. The pen seems to be a bit more thick than usual — big enough to be more comfortable to write with, yet small enough to stow into the phone itself.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 features three microphones for noise suppression that is so advanced that a special app can silence selected sources of noise from an audio recording. There's a 3,220mAh battery powering the phablet and you can add the optional Qi wireless charging panel if you like.

The phablet will be available in two versions – one with Snapdragon 805 chipset and LTE Cat. 6 connectivity and one with Exynos 5433 chipset and LTE Cat. 4 connectivity. The phablet will run Android 4.4 KitKat at launch with all the new TouchWiz features Samsung has come up since the Galaxy S5 launch.

The global launch begins this October, with color options being Charcoal Black, Frost White, Bronze Gold and Blossom Pink (and we’re sure more will be on the way shortly after launch). There will also be a Swarovski-backed edition for those who like sparkly things. No pricing information just yet, but expect the standard $600 to $700 range with contract prices coming in at $200 to $300.
