Samsung shows off affordable 128GB flash storage for smart devices

Most high-end smartphones rarely offer more than 128GB of onboard storage. The iPhone 6 maxes out at 128GB and so does the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. The problem is that while everybody likes more storage some one of them are just not willing or able to pay top dollar for a top of the line flagship smartphone. Samsung sees an opportunity here which it’s going to plug with its new high-performance mobile memory storage based on eMMC 5.0 technology. The 128GB 3-bit NAND-based chip is primarily targeted at “mass market” smartphones and tablets. That’s just a fancy way of saying that this chip is meant for affordable mobile devices.

Samsung Electronics Introduces High-performance 128-Gigabyte, 3-bit NAND Flash Memory Storage for Mass Mobile Device Market

The Korean giant’s new storage is capable of 260MB/s for sequential data reading – the same performance level as eMMC 5.1 memory. Random data read and write operations of 6,000 IOPS and 5,000 IOPS respectively are also possible on the memory. The component’s IOPS speeds are up to ten times faster than those of a typical microSD card. Samsung’s new affordable flash storage is capable of easily handling HD video processing and multi-tasking.

The only thing Samsung didn’t mention in today’s press release is when it will start mass producing this new chip. Once it starts shipping the chips to OEMs we will starting seeing devices in the mid-range market offer up to 128GB onboard storage. We don’t know what device will Samsung’s new memory chip debut into. A high-profile mid-ranger from the Korean manufacturer seems like a solid candidate for the honor.

Lenovo covers both Android & Windows with Yoga 2 Tablet family, one have projector inside

Lenovo unveiled 3 new members of Yoga 2 tablet family members with Yoga 3 Pro ultrabook. And I must admit that all the products same something incredible under their hood. The 13.3 inch version is named a Yoga 2 Pro with built-in projector. The 8 inch and 10 inch tablets have both Android and Windows running variants. The Yoga 3 Pro has 4 modes to meet all the demands you can imagine - Laptop, Stand, Tent and Tablet.

Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2 13.3 Pro
The Yoga Tablet 2 Pro runs Android and packs a 13.3" QHD display. Its specialty is something unique. The tablet comes with an integrated projector, which allows you to beam the slate's display on up to 50" surface. It also has a 5W JBL subwoofer and two 1.5W front-facing speakers. This makes up for an 8W surround sound system, which promises to be quite good.

How good Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Projector is?

You can also use the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro as a way to easily project presentations during meetings on the go, making it an interesting choice for business users. I almost think the business use case here makes more sense than the consumer choice, if only because of how difficult it can still be to connect tablets to standard projection systems.

Since this is the latest slate in the Yoga family, it comes with cool stand allowing it for different viewing modes. In addition to the old Stand, Tilt and Hold, there's a new Hang mode which lets you hang the tablet on a wall, for instance.

Under the hood of the tablet operates a quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor and 2GB of RAM. Internal storage is 32GB, while the microSD card slot allows for additional expansion of up to 64GB.

Price of Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 13.3 Pro

In terms of connectivity, the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro supports USB on-the-go, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (but no 802.11ac), Bluetooth 4.0 and LTE. At the back of the tablet, there's an 8MP f/2.2 camera with LED flash, while at the front 1.6MP 720p shooter takes care of video chatting. But I guess its not a very good news for the selfie lovers.

The slate's battery is good enough for 15 hours of usage on a single charge. When in projection mode, the Yoga Table 2 Pro has up to 3 hours of battery life. All of these neat features have made the tablet quite heavy at 950 grams.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro will be available from the end of October with the non-LTE model costing $499 which seems very reasonable to me.

Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2 family
If you are impressed with the 13.3 inch version then Lenovo has more in their bag. Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 family also comes in 8" and 10" versions; each one has both Android and Windows variants. The IPS LCD screens of the 10" and 8" models both have 1,920 x 1,200 pixel resolution, lower than the QHD screen of the Pro model but still fairly sharp in tablet terms – 226ppi and 283ppi respectively.

Android or Windows - Which Lenovo YOGA Tab is better?

They are all powered by a quad-core Atom processor and share the Yoga Tablet's trademark kickstand. The new gen introduces the Hang mode – you basically hang the tablet like a picture. The three old modes – Hold, Tilt and Stand – are also possible. Inside the thicker bottom end of the tablet are stereo front-facing speakers by Dolby and Wolfson.

The two Android tablets share in other specs too – like an 8MP f/2.2 auto-focus camera on the back and a 1.6MP selfie camera. They have 16GB of built-in storage and support microSD cards up to 64GB, plus you can attach USB On-the-go for more storage or accessories.

8inch or 10inch - Lenovo YOGA 2 tab spec difference

The connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. The 10" tablet has an LTE option available only in some countries but US is not on the list. The 10" Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 measures 255 x 183 x 3-7.2mm and weighs 619g. The 8" model is 210 x 149 x 2.7-7mm and weighs 419g.

The Android version is rated up to 18 hours on a single charge with the extended battery, while the Windows version is rated up to 15 hours.

The Android version will start at $249.99 for the 8-inch version, $299.99 for the 10-inch model and be available beginning Oct. 9.

The 10-inch Windows model will be available for $399.99 in late October at Best Buy. The 8-inch variant will be available in November starting at $299.99.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Review and Top Apps to Download

In a technology market flooded with too many options, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is competitive in the small tablet category, fitting the bill in terms of practicality, comfort and quality.

From the Looks of It…
Fully equipped with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, an intuitive operating system that anticipates and adapts to usage habits, the Galaxy Tab 3 gives you a true sense of personalization, and paired with a powerful 1.2 GHZ Dual Core Processor, operations run smoothly and quickly. The tablet holds 1.5GB of memory (RAM), a battery life of up to 11 hours, and its thin and lightweight portability packs a sharp, bright and colorful resolution. Sizes range from 7-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch, retailing at $200, $300 and $400 dollars respectively.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3

What Makes It So Good?
The Galaxy Tab 3’s 1.3-megapixel front camera and 3-megapixel back camera are ample for video chatting purposes and basic picture taking, plus the dual-speaker system creates on-point surround sound, good for all the film watching and music listening that may ensue. Upon purchase you’ll receive 50GB of free Dropbox storage for two years, making this a great work/play/travel tablet due to the huge amount of space it provides to store important documents, movies on the road and pictures of precious moments taken along the way.

And because of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3’s convenient portability factor, choosing the 4G and Wi-Fi enabled version is a must. Carriers like T-Mobile even offer 250MB of free 4G LTE data on all tablets, so if you’re looking for a low-rate option and affordable device, purchasing the Galaxy Tab 3 via T-Mobile presents itself at the most sensible route.

Best part of this tablet – a multi-window interface lets users run two apps on the screen at the same – perfect for multi-tasking between a Skype conference and taking down diligent notes. The tab continues to prove itself as a pioneer towards efficient production with its Group Play feature where Samsung users can share documents and have the ability to edit files in real-time, solving major office meeting woes.

Top Tab Apps
Aside from the capable design and helpful features, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is a platform for extremely useful and enjoyable apps. Drawing Pad is an app that caters to on-the-go tablet users looking to be entertained. This mobile art studio is a handy tactic to keep the kids distracted during a long plane ride without having to deal with the mess of crayons flying everywhere.

Capitalize on the book-sized screen of the Tab 3 by downloading the Flipboard app which houses your favorite blogs, magazines, news, videos and photos in one spot, displaying high-resolution viewing pleasure.

For those who want to be top-performers in a business setting, install the Evernote Widget. It’s a note-taking application that saves written notes (using a compatible stylus tablet pen) and also takes/stores visuals (like complicated graphs on the whiteboard) and audio recordings, particularly clutch in a rapid brainstorm session.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is guaranteed to satisfy productivity needs, catering to busy bodies such as corporate heads, hard-working parents and world-class travelers, keeping everybody up to speed and life happening.

Samsung announces 3 new PRO tablets in CES 2014

Samsung’s line of Pro tablets went from rumor to reality in just a matter of days as three Galaxy Tab Pro were unveiled at the 2014 International CES on Monday along with Galaxy NotePRO 12.2. Rumors about Samsung’s extra-wide screened tablets, which popped up just one week earlier, proved to be largely accurate.

Samsung announces Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 to make you more productive than ever

Samsung unveiled four new tablets in CES 2014 from two new lines, the Pro versions of the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab tablets. Their sizes range from 8.4" to 12.2", breaking past the current barrier of 10.1" tablets. What is interesting here all four tablets feature flagship specs that are very similar between themselves. All of them have Wi-Fi only versions along with a 3G/4G version and new faux leather back like Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO is a 12.2-inch tablet targeting more business-minded users. As well as playing host to the company’s now familiar S-Pen stylus, the high-end device packs in a raft of productivity features around a premium array of components and an all new Widget based user interface. We can say that Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 is the Samsung’s answer to Microsoft’s business-oriented Surface Pro tablet.

Is Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 too heavy to use in one hand?

The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is an upsized Note 10.1. It features a 12.2" Super Clear LCD (Sorry mate, its not AMOLED) of WQXGA resolution (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) with support for finger touch and the S Pen stylus. The tablet features the characteristic S Pen features, including the Pen Window multitasking option. A new Multi Window split-screen option is available allowing you to work with up to four apps simultaneously. The multitasking is powered by either a Snapdragon 800 chipset or an Exynos 5 Octa. The tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat and has 3GB RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 hardware is as expected – 3G for the Exynos model, Cat. 4 LTE for the Snapdragon model, 8MP camera with 1080p @ 60fps video capture (30fps for Exynos) and a bigger 9,500mAh battery. Storage is either 32GB or 64GB, but you get a microSD card slot too. it also has microUSB 3.0 port just like Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Is it OK to buy Samsung Galaxy NotePRO instead of new laptop?

Samsung went further and enabled interconnectivity with your PC too – with RemotePC you can control your computer from the Note Pro 12.2 or control the tablet through the computer. If you use the tablet, the Universal BT Keyboard and the S Action Mouse will come in handy. Other accessories include the USB LAN hub and the Book Covers.

Samsung Galaxy NotePRO feature list is not just ends here. You get Cisco WebEx Meetings for conferencing and Samsung e-Meetings for collaboration. The Ultimate User Content Gift Package, which Samsung values at $700, features pre-paid subscriptions for services and apps, including the Sketchbook Pro app, Dropbox and Bitcasa, Hancom Office, Evernote, other apps and a subscription for a number of news sites.

Why should i buy Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2?

Though the device is big but it feels surprisingly light and balanced in your hands – even it weighs 750g. It can be held with one hand for a reasonable amount on time before it starts to ache. The leather rear finish offers good grip while managing to feel solid and well built at the same time.

Samsung's new NotePro makes a significant step toward the company leaving behind the traditional Android interface in favor of something more graphical and immediate. Although pricing has yet to be announced, Samsung has confirmed that the NotePRO will start a global rollout this March in white and black versions.

HP Slate8 Pro is an all-rounder tab that you might consider

Though HP tries to set its permanent footprints in the Android jungle for the last few years but it has yet to prove itself in this crowded market. But we have to say that they end 2013 in style with the release of four tablets targeting all the levels of market very strongly. Today I wanna share my thoughts on HP Slate8 Pro. The Slate 8 Pro is HP's imitation of an iPad Mini. Why I compare it with iPad instead of tones of Android tabs? Because the first thing you should notice on the tab is its 8-inch, 4:3 ratio screen has a resolution of 1600x1200. And that is too odd for an Android tablet. And the screen resolution sits right in between the original iPad Mini and the newer "retina" model. The display is protected by corning gorilla glass 3 which the best in the market by far.

What is the plus point of HP Slate8 Pro?

Under the hood HP Slate8 Pro got a Tegra 4 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage space and an open MicroSD card slot, a Micro HDMI port, and a 720p/8MP front and rear camera setup with flash. The battery is a respectable 5680mAh which is not bad at all in this form factor. HP claims this battery will power the device for at least 11 and half hours. But the bad news is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean powers the tablet which is two generation old at this moment.

All the connectivity features are included in HP Slate8 Pro. But voice communication is no go for the tablet. It’s HDMI out can handle up to Ultra HD 4K display if you need which is great. Beats audio and integrated stereo speaker fulfills all your multimedia need. It weighs exactly 1 pound.

If you've been waiting on the HP Slate8 Pro then you can pick it up for $329.99 in HP official store. Amazon is also offering this tablet for $15 less. They also have 1 or 2 year drop and spill protection warranty costing $42 and $50 respectively. Snow white is only available color option for HP Slate8 Pro.

Samsung launches exciting ‘Stay New’ upgrade and buyback plans in India

Samsung has come up with a new scheme called ‘Stay New’ in India, which offers consumers affordable ways to buy new Samsung phones and tablets and to upgrade from their older devices. Just after 3 months of buying. The idea is powered after the major success of ‘Buyback’ plans on smartphones implemented by manufacturers like Samsung and Apple to increase adoption of their devices considerably.

Under the plan, consumers will be able to buy new Samsung devices at low monthly installments through credit cards of various banks (HDFC, ICICI, Citi, and Standard Chartered). For those wishing to upgrade to a new device, Samsung will allow them to sell their current device within three to six months of its purchase, after deducting the price of the latter. For a company that refreshes its device lineup every month, the ‘Stay New’ plan is a nice offering that should help Samsung further improve its position in India, which is the world’s third-largest smartphone market.

Samsung Galaxy Stay New offer details procedure

Just one bad news after all these. The ‘Stay New’ Plan is applicable on Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy Tab 3 311, Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy SIII only. Click on the source link to see the Samsung India page for further details.

They released Nexus 7 (2013) to dominate the tablet market again. The people of India might wonder how long would it take for this newer version to reach the Indian market and what this might bring to action. We’re here to answer your questions and regards here. Nexus 7 tablet price in India is around 21,000 INR.

Nexus 7 vs Galaxy tab 3

There’re three models that have been unleashed in the market. They vary in internal storage and Wi-Fi as well. Let’s take a deeper look at its features and design specs.

Design & Display
Google always promises to deliver sleeker design and this time things didn’t change. Although, Google tried to provide cheaper back to its newer nexus but the quality seemed to be perfect. The 7inch tablet comes with upgraded look as well. It features LED backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a large resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels. This is large update than the previous Nexus 7. It comes with clearer screen with higher pixel density (323ppi) as well. The screen comes with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass as well.

Hardware Specs
The major upgrade lies in the hands of its hardware specifications. Nexus 7 (2013) is featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon S4Pro Quad-Core 1.5 GHz Krait processor (probably making Nexus 7 the fastest tablet in the market) coupled with 2GB RAM. The combination of the two powerhouse results in extreme performance and reliability. If you’re concerned with graphics and gaming performance, you can rest assure all of your worries in Adreno 320 GPU unit (one of the best in the current market).

The newer Nexus 7 is faster, smoother and sexier in all senses. It comes with various sensors like Accelerometer, Gyroscrope, Proximiy etc. You’ll find all of the necessary sensors except for Barometer and other ones. It comes with various connectivity functions like Wi-Fi, NFC (Near Field Communication), Bluetooth v4.0 etc. The LTE version is yet not available in the market. If you’ve a LTE version, it would support microSIM and you can expect to get HSPA+ speed in your network. The tablet weighs around 290g which makes it a great bargain for people who want to weigh less.

Camera & Video
Although, tablets hardly require any powerful camera for taking images, but Nexus 7 hardened itself to match its tough competitors like Apple, Galaxy Note 8.0. It features a 5MP camera with functions like Auto-focus, Face Detection, Geo-Tagging etc. The images are worth of 2592 x 1944 pixels which don’t result in distorted ones when you zoom in. You can expect to shoot 1080p videos at 30frames per second with this device. The secondary camera isn’t bad at all. It’s at least a greater option for video calls and random self-shots.

The battery life of newer Nexus 7 is around 3950mAh and it supposed to be supporting your multimedia entertainment options for at least 9 hours which is quite impressive. The older Nexus 7 got a large price drop and this made room for the latest version.

Looking for a Budget-friendly Tablet? Try the Hisense Sero 7 Pro

Among the top tablet makers in the industry are Samsung Electronics and Apple. All of us were captivated by their respective tablet devices—the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the iPad, for example—and if financial limitations is not a consideration, then we would surely buy them. These are high-end devices that are excellent for personal and business use.

For cash-strapped small and medium-sized enterprises, these tablet brands may prove unreachable, at least for the meantime. They need to settle with budget-friendly tablets first before they can purchase higher-end ones. Good thing that the market abounds with affordable tablets that SMBs can choose from. One of these tablets is the Hisense Sero 7 Pro.

Some caveat before you rush out to buy this tablet
The Hisense Sero 7 Pro may come with a stunning price—just $149 at Wal-Mart—but that does not mean that you have to choose this device automatically. This is because, just like any other budget devices, the Sero 7 Pro has to compromise some features, such as performance and screen specs.

If you are looking for a cost-efficient tablet, then the Google Nexus 7 is the right choice for you. Yet if this tablet’s slightly higher price tag is more than you can afford, then it would be good to consider the Hisense Sero 7 Pro.

You might face some problems with this device especially when it comes to photo quality and CPU performance. This tablet comes with a few perks, however, if that is any consolation. For instance, it has an excellent battery life and an expandable storage that can take up to 32GB of additional memory.

Salient specifications of the Hisense Sero 7 Pro
For you to be able to intelligently discern the wisest course of action to take when it comes to this tablet, we provided the most important specifications in the succeeding perusal for your perusal.

The Hisense Sero 7 Pro is just like any other tablet when it comes to design—it is hardly a stunner. It sports a black front and a gray back and edges, which is attenuated by its rounded corners. Despite the lackluster design of this tablet, it is still a well-constructed device.

This tablet’s 7” panel has a resolution of 1280 x 800p, which is higher than the Slate 7’s yet falls short of the standards set by the Google Nexus 7. The Hisense Sero 7 Pro also comes with a number of hardware features such as a volume rocker, a power-sleep button, a mini-HDMI port, a micro-USB port, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

This tablet is powered by a skinless version of the Android Jelly Bean (4.2.1), meaning that there is no third-party UI that overlays the stock Android interface. This device also comes with two retail apps for Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart. Other apps include the mobile office suite and productivity apps Kingsoft Office, the gaming portal TegraZone, a TV Remote app, and music-streaming and radio app Pandora.

The Hisense Sero 7 Pro has an 8GB onboard storage and a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor that is coupled with 1GB of RAM. Connectivity support includes GPS, NFC, Android Beam, Bluetoith 3.0 EDR and Wi-Fi. When it comes to camera performance, this tablet sports a 5MP rer camera and a 2MP front camera, both of which take poor photos.

Doing the basic tasks with this tablet is a breeze, but the device’s quad-core processor experiences lags when executing the more complicated tasks. It has a saving grace, however, since its 4000mAh battery can last for hours with minimal use and maximum screen brightness. It rated 8.4 hours in the battery drain test.
