He successfully able to run Android 4.0 ICS on 1st generation HTC made Google Nexus One.

The successful Ice Cream Sandwich installation is actually an SDK port and while it may not have everything running buttery smooth, it’s a huge step forward towards bringing Android 4.0 to modern Android devices.

Android 2.3.4 Over the Air Upgrade is Out for Nexus One

All the Google Nexus One owners now able to update their Google phone with Android 2.3.4 firmware via over the air upgrade. The upgrade build number is GRJ22. How to Update Your Google Nexus One 2.2 Firmware to Android 2.3.3 Manually

After a long wait Google finally decides to give Google Nexus One users the taste of Android 2.3 gingerbread (actually 2.3.3). But it is frustrating that the OTA update will take more than a month in some countries. And if you have problem with your mobile data package then OTA update is not possible for you. So here’s the solution for you. You might try to upgrade your Google Nexus One firmware to Gingerbread 2.3.3 manually. It’s not very tough. But you must installed the latest firmware of Android 2.2 to install this update manually.

How to update your Google Nexus One manually-

1. At 1st download the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread firmware file from Google.
2. Rename the downloaded file to update.zip. And copy it to your Nexus One root of your MicroSD.
3. Turn off Nexus One handset.
4. Hold down the “Volume Down” button until you phone power is on again.
5. A screen should appear showing your phone’s system searching for various files. Scroll down to “recovery” and press the “Power” button.
6. When you see the triangle with an exclamation point symbol, press the “Power” and “Volume Up” buttons at the same time.
7. From the menu that appears, select “Apply sdcard:update.zip.”
8. When the screen displays “Install from sdcard complete” select “reboot system now” and wait for the phone to power back up.

Google Nexus One Getting Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread Through OTA

After a long wait Google finally informs their 1st Google Phone- HTC Google Nexus One users will get Android 2.3 Gingerbread update soon. Today Google post it on their official twitter account and saying that it may takes few weeks to complete the process in all countries. In the mean time Google Nexus S also getting the same update- Android 2.3.3. It is expected that this update will fixes various bugs and random reboots have been addressed.

This is a great news for the Google Nexus One users. Because they are waiting anxiously for this gingerbread update and to see the new face of their phone.

The Android 2.3.3 update in question will bring more NFC capabilities to the Nexus S. From now you will be able to write rewritable NFC tags and new API support for developers to fully utilize the near-field communication chip.

But if are a Nexus S users then one thing for you. If you have your Facebook contacts synced, they’ll all get erased. Google has decided to take this step. As Facebook doesn’t really use the Android contacts API to store contacts on the handset, thus making them impossible to export. So Google is against it and they decide to stop sync Facebook contacts in the Nexus S and future “lead devices”.

Google Nexus One Gets Android 2.2.2 Firmware Upgrade, Fixes SMS Bug

If you are a Google Nexus One phone owner then something is waiting for you. One disgusting sms problem will be solved when you are installing latest Google Android 2.2.2 froyo update. Google Nexus S sms problem is very much annoying, your phone sends text message to wrong number automatically. Even though the text shows in the correct contact’s in message thread.

Now this sms bug is fixed through the Over-The-Air Android froyo update which will makes your Google Nexus One Android 2.2.2. This Google Nexus One 2.2 and 2.2.1 update also fixes some other problem found in earlier Google phone. The Android 2.2 update file is only about 550 KB big and the build number goes from FRG83D to FRG83G after installing.

The Android 2.2.2 update is available for manual installation. Otherwise you will wait a while for the OTA version. Procedure of manual updating of your Google Nexus One to Android 2.2.2 is followed now.

To install Android 2.2.2 update on Google Nexus One manually please follow the following steps:

• Download the update file from Google’s server: FRG83G-from-FRG83D
• Copy the file to the root directory (aka not inside any folder) of your microSD card and name it update.zip
• Power off your phone.
• Hold down the VOLUME DOWN button and power it back on.
• Wait for your phone to load the skating Androids screen. Scroll down to recovery and press the POWER button.
• When you see the “/!\” symbol, press the POWER button and the VOLUME UP button at the same time. You should be presented with a menu and one of the options should be “apply sdcard:update.zip”.
• Use the trackball to navigate to “apply sdcard:update.zip” and select it.
• When you see “Install from sdcard complete”, select “reboot system now”.

But still Google says nothing about when Google Nexus One will gets Android 2.3 gingerbread update. We are still waiting for that.
