Google Nexus S gets official Android ICS update

If you decided to buy Google Nexus phone earlier this year than you are a lucky one. According to the official Nexus Twitter account, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update started rolling out today and will continue for the rest of the month to your device.

The update will be made available over-the-air, so you can manually check on your phone or wait for the notification to appear. This version is actually the 4.0.3 that was just announced by Google and even the Galaxy Nexus is not running it at the moment. Update is only available to the GSM/UMTS version of the Nexus S for the moment and not the CDMA version used by Sprint customers in the US.

You will be glad to know that the ICS ROM is available for download and install manually for those who know what they are doing. Here’s how you can do it-

1. Download the OTA Package
2. Rename it to update.zip
3. Copy it to the root of the internal storage
4. Power off the device, hold Volume Up and Power to reboot into the bootloader
5. Select "recovery," then hit the power button
6. Once the warning triangle appears, hold the power button and hit volume up
7. Select "apply update from /sdcard" and choose the update.zip
8. Once the process is finished, simply choose "reboot system now"

That’s all, enjoy now! But do not try this on the CDMA Nexus S.

Nexus S 4G tastes Google Wallet through Android 2.3.7

The Google Wallet service has finally started rolling out to users of the Nexus S 4G on Sprint's network. You will need to update your phone to the latest firmware before installing the 2.3.7 update. Android 2.3.7 upgrades your phone's firmware from GRJ90 to GWK74. You may get the notification asking you to update or you can go to Settings > About phone > System updates to see if you have got any update waiting for you.

This update is only available to Nexus S 4G users as the Google Wallet service is available exclusively on Sprint. International users of the Nexus S may find themselves stuck on the same old version 2.3.4 for now.

Android 2.3.6 is rolling out for Google Nexus S, fixes bugs

Google has just issued another update for its Nexus S smartphone, which brings the version number up to 2.3.6. And while that kind of change might make you believe that the update is quite a big deal, it's actually pretty minor.

Android 2.3.6 is a bugfix release, which comes to solve the voice search issues that have plagued the Nexus S recently. Google Nexus One Getting Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread Through OTA

After a long wait Google finally informs their 1st Google Phone- HTC Google Nexus One users will get Android 2.3 Gingerbread update soon. Today Google post it on their official twitter account and saying that it may takes few weeks to complete the process in all countries. In the mean time Google Nexus S also getting the same update- Android 2.3.3. It is expected that this update will fixes various bugs and random reboots have been addressed.
