HTC unveils new 2017 flagship: U11 - it has squeeze to in input feature

The HTC U11 is HTC flagship for 2017, taking the U name of it's liquid surface playmates launched earlier in 2017 and clicking up incrementally over the 2016 HTC 10. With its latest flagship device, HTC is taking device input a step further by allowing the phone to be operated with a squeeze. When the phone's pressure-sensitive sides register your tightened grip, it'll open the app you've programmed in. Called Edge Sense, this feature marks the first time any phonemaker has used touch like this.

This is a proper eight-core Snapdragon 835 flagship—Qualcomm's latest chip, a 5.5-inch, 2560x1440 LCD; a 2.45GHz, 4GB of RAM; 64GB of storage (plus a MicroSD card) and a 3000mAh battery. The U11 has an IP67 water and dust resistance rating. There's also the usual array of NFC, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi support as well as a fingerprint sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor, magnetic sensor, and gyroscope.

The main camera is a 12 MP UltraPixel 3-branded unit with 1.4 micron pixel size, f/1.7 aperture, optical image stabilization, a dual-LED flash, and 4K video recording. Slow motion video can be captured in 1080p at 120fps. The selfie snapper is higher-res, interestingly, coming in at 16 MP. It records 1080p Full HD video, and has a Selfie Panorama mode.

Like the U Ultra, there's no headphone jack, but HTC will ship a USB-C-to-3.5mm plug in the box. HTC's in-box headphones also get active noise canceling. At its launch, the device will run Android 7.1, the latest version of the Google-owned operating system. The version of Nougat has support for Google's Daydream VR and circular Android icons.

The U11 comes with not one, but three different intelligent assistants. In addition to the Google Assistant that comes with Android, it also has HTC’s Sense Companion and support for Amazon’s Alexa assistant. The U11 is the first smartphone to have full hands-free support for Alexa, so you can say a voice command without having to first open an app or even unlock the phone.

HTC announces Desire 10 Pro 7 Desire 10 Lifestyle duo

HTC’s midrange Desire line has been the company’s bread winner for the past couple of years, while HTC has struggled to compete with Samsung and Apple on the high end. But while the Desire line has been hugely important to HTC’s bottom line, it has always had a playful, less serious look than the company’s other phones. That's why last week HTC unveiled a pair of Desire 10 smartphones heavily teased over the past few weeks. One of the distinctive things about the Desire 10 is the design, with gold trim framing the distinct colours, giving a contrast finish reminiscent of art deco classic design.

HTC Desire 10 Pro
The Desire 10 Pro packs the better hardware. It starts with a 5.5-inch FullHD IPS display, protected by an unspecified gen Gorilla Glass. This higher-specced model is powered by a Mediatek Helio P10 chipset and has 4GB of RAM and a roomy 64GB of storage, which is also expandable via microSD. A 20MP primary camera sits on the back of the Desire 10 Pro with a f/2.2 27.8mm-equivalent lens, laser autofocus and a dual-LED flash. Selfies are taken care of by a 13MP front cam with the same-specced lens, and a 150-degree selfie panorama mode for group shots. The measures 156.5 x 76 x 7.9mm and weighs 165g. Inside it, there's a 3,000mAh battery to keep the lights on.

On the connectivity front, the Desire 10 Pro brings Cat. 6 LTE (up to 300Mbps down/50Mbps up) , dual-band 5GHz/2.4GHz Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC and AGPS + GLONASS. Wired options include a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microUSB 2.0 port. A fingerprint sensor is placed on the Pro's back as well, and other than unlocking the device it is also able to control the camera.



HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle
Though the Desire 10 Lifestyle looks and feels same as Desire 10 Pro there are many things missing under the hood. It features a 5.5-inch display that has a 720p resolution for a pixel density of 267ppi. Perhaps least impressive about the Lifestyle is the SoC in charge - the aging and not particularly powerful Snapdragon 400, which even Qualcomm now lists as a wearables' chipset.

The Desire 10 Lifestyle will be available in two versions, one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage, the other with a 2GB/16GB configuration. Both offer a microSD slot for expansion, so fret not.



What the Pro gets for a selfie camera, the Lifestyle uses for a primary shooter, at least judging by the numbers. It's a 13MP sensor behind an f/2.2 28mm-equiv. lens. The front-facer of the Desire 10 Lifestyle is a 5MP setup with an f/2.8 aperture and a 33.7mm-equiv focal length.

LTE is Cat. 4 on the Desire 10 Lifestyle (150Mbps down, 50Mbps up), you get 2.4GHz Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, NFC and AGPS + GLONASS. No port surprises here - microUSB 2.0 for charging and data transfer, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Lifestyle doesn't get a fingerprint sensor, though.

At 156.9 x 76.9 x 7.7 mm, the Desire 10 Lifestyle measures mostly the same as the Pro, but weighs 10g less, mainly because of it packs a smaller 2,700mAh battery.

The missing part of this puzzle is price. We know that the Desire 10 Lifestyle will $300, but the Pro will cost more, priced between the Lifestyle and the HTC 10. The Desire 10 Lifestyle will start rolling out in select markets today, with the Desire 10 Pro expected next month.

HTC One M9 is now available in Bangladesh for 60,000 taka

It looks like before HTC is launching its One M9 flagship smartphone in most countries around the globe, customers of Bangladesh are already have the pleasure to grab the device without any T&C! The initial price of the device is set to 60,000 taka or $765. Originally unveiled during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the One M9 features the same design as its predecessors except that the display panel has thinner bezels and the metal body is now two-tone with the edges featuring a different colour tone. HTC One M9 sports a 5-inch Super LCD3 full-HD display (1920x1080p). Powered by a 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 64-bit octa-core processor and 3GB RAM, the phone offers 32GB storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 128GB storage.



The phone sports a 20MP rear camera (BSI, sapphire glass lens) and a 4MP Ultrapixel front camera with super-wide angle lens. The new HTC flagship runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company's brand new Sense 7 UI on top. The new HTC Sense 7 brings upgraded BlinkFeed. The skin is not very different from its current avatar but now offers the ability to customize the UI theme with a source image and has a location-aware menu that changes app shortcuts depending on the user's location.

Connectivity options on the One M9 include Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, GLONASS, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, and LTE. It features ambient light, proximity, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, magnetic, and sensor hub, while it supports single Nano-SIM cards.

The HTC One M9 packs a 2840mAh battery which is slightly larger than the One (M8) that came with 2600mAh battery. It measures 144.6x69.7x9.61mm and weighs 157 grams.

The new flagship also retains the One family's iconic dual front-facing speakers and BoomSound and with Dolby Audio and 5.1 channel Dolby Surround sound simulation. The handset also supports 24-bit high-definition sound quality.

HTC Desire 626 is now available in Bangladesh for 19,000 taka

HTC has launched its latest offering aimed at budget buyers, the Desire 626. Now available for purchase in Bangladesh for 19,000 taka ($245). The HTC Desire 626 sports a 5" 720p display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU and 1GB of RAM. Internal storage is 16GB and is expandable through the microSD card slot. At the back, there's a 13MP camera with a BSI sensor and f/2.2 aperture that records 1080p video. A 5MP selfie camera is at the front and it also records 1080p.



The 2,000mAh battery is non-removable and can handle up to 30 hours of 3G talk time and 760 hours of stand-by. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 4.0 and single-band Wi-Fi 802.11n with DLNA.

3rd gen HTC One is now official - named as One M9

The big moment you've all been waiting for - HTC unveiled the One M9 at a press conference in Barcelona over the weekend and it'll be arriving in stores by March 31. The new device isn't a drastic overhaul of HTC's existing product, but then it didn't really need to be. Also there is no Plus version at this moment.

The HTC One M9 will, like the previous two HTC One generations, come with BoomSound speakers. This time emulated surround sound is available, either through the speakers or with headphones. Also, "HTC Themes" is a HTC branded app that lets you customize every detail of the Sense interface to your liking, offering an unparalleled level of customization not yet seen on devices without root privileges.



HTC One M9 packs a 5" 1080p display - the same unit from One (M8) - Super LCD3 - with minor improvements on the technology and color rendering. The One M9 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 platform - an octa-core 64-bit processor with four Cortex-A57 cores at 2.0GHz and four Cortex-A53 working at 1.5GHz. The new Adreno 430 is responsible for the graphics, while the 3GB RAM will help with the multi-tasking.

The rest of the specs include 32GB expandable storage and rich connectivity package with LTE Cat.6 or Cat.9 (various by region) with support for 21 LTE bands, wired and wireless TV-out, GPS + GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and Wi-Fi ac.


The phone is slightly smaller and easier to hold. The rear UltraPixel camera has been swapped out for a more traditional 20MP shooter with a 1/2.3" sensor size. HTC One M9 comes with a 20MP BSI camera on the back with F/2.2 aperture and dual-LED dual-tone flash. The maximum shooting resolution is 5376 x 3752 px – that’s 10:7 aspect ratio. RAW capture is supported, as is 4K video recording. The One M9 is not dust and waterproof, but the company promises IP69-certified cases for the One M9. HTC One M9 comes with non-replaceable 2,840 mAh battery. Fast charging is supported by default, but the charger within the retail package is not a "fast charger".

There's no news on cost at the moment, but it seems very likely to be the same price as before - £549 / $649 / AU$849, with contracts starting at £36 in the UK. The Taiwanese brand has confirmed that the phone will be launching in mid-March for Taiwan and Europe, with the US slightly later towards the end of the month.

The Galaxy S6 is arguably HTC’s biggest competition inside Q2 2015, save for Apple’s iPhone. Later on this year the Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 will be joined by the LG G4, another hugely anticipated launch from Korea’s second biggest handset maker.

HTC One M7 Lollipop update is now OTA in Europe

It's very nice to see that HTC isn't forgetting its first generation of nicely crafted ONE series handset, M7. The original HTC One M7 is finally getting the Lollipop treatment in Europe. Update is already Over The Air and its 805MB in size and brings important bug fixes, as well as enhancements. The new ROM version is 7.19.401.2.



According to the changelog the lockscreen and notification system have been updated for a new material Android 5.0 look. Other additions include multiple pages within the recent apps interface as well as a new search function within the settings menu. The OS will still be running HTC's Sense 6 skin, so the change won't be quite so drastic as it is on AOSP ROMs.

HTC Desire Eye is available in Bangladesh for 38,000 taka

Taking pictures of your own gurning face and plastering it over the Internet is unquestionably the best thing you can do with a device that has the entire wealth of human knowledge only a tap away. The front-facing cameras that enable such a noble pursuit on most phones, however, tend to be low-resolution and lack the flash you find on the back.

Not so with the HTC Desire Eye. This 5.2-inch Android phone separates itself from the rest of the Android world by virtue of its 13-megapixel front-facing camera, which also has a dual LED flash to illuminate your dazzling smile in even the darkest of places. It's the first phone to have such a potent front camera. It is, in fact, the same camera that you'll find on the back of the phone as well.



HTC announced the Desire Eye back in October, but up until today it hasn't been for sale in the subcontinent. After more than two months since its unveiling over there, however, the Desire Eye is finally advertised as being in stock by at least one mobile phone retailer in Mumbai.

You grab the Desire Eye is priced at 38,000 taka, which means about $475. So this isn't dirt cheap, though on the other hand it does come with some pretty impressive specs, ones not previously seen on HTC's Desire sub-brand. The main selling point for the Desire Eye is surely its 13 MP front-facing camera, which even comes with a dual-tone dual-LED flash. The rear cam has the same resolution, while the phone's screen is a 5.2-inch 1080p panel.

At the helm we can find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, with a 2.3 GHz quad-core CPU aided by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable built-in storage. The handset runs Android 4.4 KitKat and has a 2,400 mAh non-removable battery.

Three grabs exclusive HTC Desire Eye rights in UK

The new HTC Desire Eye phone will be available on Three as the operator announced an agreement to become the exclusive UK operator to sell the device. The smartphone with front and rear 13MP cameras with dual-LED flash units went official last night in New York, and Three was quick to brag that it got the exclusivity deal. There is no information if Three's exclusivity is time limited or not. Naturally, you will be able to get a subsidized HTC Desire Eye with a 2-year contract, but again - the pricing and exact availability is to be specified later.



The Desire EYE was the centrepiece of HTC’s Double Exposure eventt on Wednesday night. Its key feature is the 13-megapixel front-facing camera, designed to allow users to produce even more selfies at a higher quality than experienced on most other smartphones on the market. In addition, the Eye comes equipped with a 5.2-inch Full HD display, 2GB RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocks at 2.3GHz. You also get 16 GB internal memory and a microSD slot (128GB). The device is waterproof and comes with a bunch of sensors. Lastly, the Eye comes running on Android 4.4.4 KitKat powered by a 2,400mAh battery.

HTC has also bundled in a host of interesting software features which allows users to up their selfie game. Split Capture takes a photo with the front and rear-facing cameras at the same time, while Crop-Me-In places the user in the shot captured by the rear camera.

The handset will be available in November. Three also announced it will be offering the Re Camera costing £169 ($275). However there is one confusion over the news. It's unclear what happens if you aren't a Three user - the press release mentions that three will be the only operator to offer the smartphone so an unlocked and SIM-free HTC Desire Eye might be available through other retailers.

HTC unveils Desire Eye, has 13MP selfie camera with dual tone flash

HTC Desire Eye is on the news for quite a while now. And last night after the official announcement in New York we can say that most of them are true. It turns out it's the new Desire flagship. The HTC Desire Eye can be seen as an upgrade over the HTC One (E8). This is an Android smartphone with a whopping 13MP front facing camera — one should be perfect for all those selfies, and we expect to see some cool software to use things to their full potential. Aimed at the internet’s new obsession with selfies, the phone is sure to cater to the younger crowd.



That give the Desire Eye a unique face – a much larger than usual front-facing camera is positioned above the screen and it gets a dedicated dual-LED flash and a microphone. It's getting the same treatment as the back camera, which has a dual-LED flash and a microphone too. There's another microphone on the bottom of the device for a total of three microphones used for better audio through noise cancellation. Both cameras can record 1080p@30fps video. The one on the back has an f/2.0 aperture and a 28mm lens, while the one on the front has a wider 20mm lens but a smaller f/2.2 aperture.

The new hardware, which runs Sense 6 under Android 4.4 hood, features specs that are more indicative of the One lineup than the Desire brand, as it offers a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2GB of RAM, IPX7 waterproof rating, a 5.2-inch 1080p display, BoomSound and a 2,400mAh battery.



The Desire Eye has 16GB of built-in storage, expandable by microSD cards up to 128GB and two front-facing stereo speakers, a large front-facing camera and a larger screen, the Eye is not the most compact device around, measuring 151.7 x 73.8 x 8.5 mm. The phone also boasts LTE connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, NFC and a microUSB port.

The HTC Desire EYE will be offered by AT&T exclusively at launch. Further availability and pricing details will be available later on. But the rumor says HTC is planning to price it in between its two lineups: The company says the Eye will be priced somewhere between the Desire 820 -- the 64-bit smartphone unveiled last month -- and the E8, which is a plastic version of the M8.



HTC is also giving the camera app itself an overhaul, with their new “EYE Experience” coming preloaded on the device out of the box. The camera software suite features a handful of useful new “selfie” features, like split capture (taking a photo using both front and rear cameras), face tracking for video calls, and even screen capture should you want to share something stored on your device. HTC EYE Experience will roll out to the following models : HTC One (M7), HTC One (M8), HTC One (E8), HTC One mini, HTC One mini 2, HTC One Remix, HTC One Max, HTC Desire 612, and HTC Desire 816 in the coming months.

Then there's the new Zoe. Recent HTC phones came with just a promise for a new app for months on end but the wait is over. The new version offers collaborative video editing and it integrates with RE – HTC's new action camera. Zoe is not completely done even after all this wait, the new content engine will launch later this year.

Verizon releasing HTC Desire 612 with XLTE and BoomSound Audio

Verizon is preparing to bring 4G LTE aka XLTE with the addition of BoomSound in mid-level HTC Desire 612 on 9th of October. Its almost identical to AT&T HTC Desire 610 except the screen resolution is bumbped to 720p from qHD. The Desire 612 packs a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of built-in storage, microSD card support, an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash, a 1.3 MP front-facing snapper, dual front-facing stereo speakers, and a 2,040 mAh battery.



The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat and has support for Verizon's XLTE network for fast data speeds. The Desire 612 will be free with a new two-year contract from the carrier. You'll also be able to get it using Verizon's Edge installment plan, if you qualify. And for a limited time, customers who activate or upgrade to a new smartphone on The MORE Everything Plans with at least 1 GB of data will get an extra 1 GB of bonus data per month for up to 24 months, as long as that smartphone remains active on The MORE Everything Plan.

HTC unveils new 64-bit Desire 820 phablet at IFA 2014

HTC has announced the latest member of their Desire family at IFA 2014 in Berlin. The new HTC Desire 820 is the successor to the popular Desire 816 and is the second HTC phone to have a 64-bit processor. The Desire 820 is the first phone to run on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939), which has an octa-core CPU with eight Cortex-A53 cores, four of them clocked at 1.5GHz and four at 1.0GHz, along with Adreno 405 GPU. The SoC is based on the 64-bit architecture and HTC will update the phone to Android L, which is designed to take advantage of 64-bit processing.



The Desire 820 also has a 5.5-inch, 1280x720px display, 13 megapixel rear camera, 8 megapixel front camera, and BoomSound speakers. The phone will offer Cat 4 LTE connectivity. The HTC Desire 820 will be available the end of September and select markets will get a dual-SIM version. The available colors are Marble White, Tuxedo Grey, Santorini White, Milky-way Grey, Tangerine White, Saffron Grey, Flamingo Grey, Blue Mist, and Monarch Orange.

HTC One M8 is now available in Bangladesh for 58,000 taka

HTC has finally made the HTC One M8 official on 25th of March, and the device is out on the market on the very first day of announcement. HTC says the One M8 will be the single largest product launch in its history, and will be sold on 230 networks globally. Before the end of April, it will be released in America, UK, Germany, France, China, Australia, and Taiwan. And it has been available in Bangladeshi market for the last few days too. But the worrying fact is once again there is no official channel in Bangladesh for any HTC products that’s why you won’t get any sorts of warranty with this 58,000 taka ($750) product. The HTC One M8 is available in Gunmetal Grey, Amber Gold, and Glacial Silver color options in various mobile brand shops around Dhaka city.



The all-new HTC One M8 comes with a 5-inch full-HD display and will be available in 16GB and 32GB storage options, with support for expandable storage via microSD cards of up to 128GB capacity. It comes with a body that's '90 percent metal' and exudes the same premium feel as its predecessor. The phone comes with 2GB of RAM.

Another important selling point of HTC One M8 is the dual camera setup that puts a 4-UltraPixel camera alongside a depth sensing camera that lets you do cool things like refocusing images after they've been clicked and other stuff. But the real question is: Does the all-new HTC One have what it takes to win people’s hearts and wallets this time around, helping to return the company to former glories. Or will it suffer at the hands of Samsung and the Galaxy S5? I fear that at least in countries like Bangladesh or in Indian sub continental, it’s impossible to beat Samsung because of their monstrous marketing team. Samsung even have the manpower to sell their devices in street too where HTC lacks even official distributor. And Samsung Galaxy S5 with 2 years of warranty is even cheaper that non-warranty HTC One M8.

HTC One M8 has both Developer and Google Play edition from day 1

It is expected that HTC will release the Google Play edition of their 2014 flagship, HTC One M8. But it’s quite unexpected and nice that they’ve decided to release both a Developer edition and Google Play edition at the same time of original Sense powered HTC one M8.

The HTC One M8 Google Play edition has stock Android 4.4.2 KitKat inside. The device is priced $699, which is strange since the bootloader should be unlocked and flashing a GPE ROM should be easy. Developers who need unrestricted access to the phone will also enjoy the $649 Developer edition, same price as the consumer device.

*Update: HTC One M8 Googple Play Edition is now just $499 at US Google Play Store.



Keep in mind that these two devices have exact same hardware like the mainstream HTC one M8, there only difference is their Software. The Google Play Edition is already available for pre-order from the US Google Play Store. There's no update when and where the Developer edition will be available.

HTC announces One (M8) with all the specs expected including dual camera on the back

You have to admit it – We all have seen HTC 2014 flagship ‘HTC One (M8)’ thousand times even with hands on video. But all of those were unofficial! The HTC One (M8) is now official and most of the rumors we've seen so far came out true. The smartphone has a unibody made of 90% metal as opposed to 70% for its predecessor giving it an even sleeker look. The new HTC One features a wraparound metal design, a 5-inch display and a dual rear camera setup. The phone comes in three colors at launch — gunmetal gray, glacial silver and amber gold. HTC took special care to mention that their antenna is built into the rear of the device’s body, so the metal shouldn’t interfere with day-to-day usage.



The One (M8) screen has been increased from a 4.7" unit to a 5", while retaining the 1080p resolution. Side bezels have been slimmed down and hardware keys have been replaced by on-screen ones so the difference in size compared to the original One is minimal. As far as processing power goes, the new HTC flagshipoffers a Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor for the US, Europe, Middle East and Africa and a higher-clocked 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU for Asia, Adreno 330 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. The storage options are 16 GB and 32 GB but the M8 will allow expansion by up to 128 GB through the microSD card slot.

The phone features 25% louder "BoomSound" front-facing speakers and an all-new "Duo Camera" setup for photography and video. The main camera is a 4-megapixel "Ultrapixel" unit with f/2.0 lens, while the secondary camera, located above it, is used for capturing depth information for use with the phone's advanced photo features. For example, you can refocus still images after shooting them, add 3D effects to pictures. As on the previous HTC One, you can also record "Zoe" animated shots and create automatic video highlight reels. 1080p HD video recording is supported, as is HDR video, and there's also a 5-megapixel BSI (backside illuminated) front facer. And launching soon, the new Zoe social app will allow you to share Zoes and photos — and remix your friends' highlight videos, too.



The Android version is 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6 on top. One of the coolest new features brought by the updated package is Motion Launch, which lets you quickly open the camera or unlock the phone while the screen is off. Picking up the One (M8) in landscape mode and pressing the volume button will launch the camera. There's double tap or slide up from the bottom to wake the phone. While locked you can pick up the phone in portrait mode and swipe left on its screen to launch the widget panel or right for BlinkFeed.

A newly introduced extreme Power Saving Mode promises to give you up to 30 hours of running by using just 10% of the One (M8)'s 2,600 mAh battery. Zoe has also been updated and can take 20 full-res stills coupled with video in just three seconds. The Sense 6 launcher itself has been moved to the Play Store in an attempt to streamline the update process.



HTC has announced that the M8 is headed to more than 230 carriers in more than 100 carriers, many of which will go down before the end of April. A lot of folks won’t have to wait that long, though, with HTC announcing that you’ll be able to go to Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, Rogers, Bell and Telus websites starting at 1PM this afternoon, with phones arriving as early as tomorrow! Those on Verizon will also be able to head into their local store today and finagle one themselves starting at 1PM.

As for the rest of the pack, HTC says most launches will happen before April 10th, so it’s only a short couple of weeks before a vast majority of the mobile-loving world gets their hands on one of these.

HTC One users T-Mobile getting Android 4.4 KitKat soon

HTC guys are preparing to release the Android 4.4 KitKat update for all the HTC One users of T-Mobile US. The same update is already out for the Sprtint and Verizon users for a while now. The newest firmware comes with the Sense 5.5 user interface, which brings the customizable Blinkfeed homescreen pane. The latest version of Android also comes with several tweaks and improvements to enhance the overall performance.

Meanwhile, the update isn't far from reaching the AT&T HTC One consumers, according to HTC's executive director of product management Mo Versi. The Taiwan manufacturer seems to have received the carrier's technical approval for the update and the new firmware will start rolling out very soon.

HTC US made great U-turn – One X may receive KitKat

HTC has never a tradition of upgrading their Android devices regularly. They dumped so many good phone just after one year of service in the past. Well those things have a chance to change in future. HTC has formally announced their new commitment to support all future flagship devices with major updates for 2 years after they’ve been released. Don’t start your celebration yet. Because so far this upgrade rules will be applicable for US only! Damn good strategy – isn’t it?

Let’s discuss the whole scenario with you. Earlier HTC announced that the HTC One X and One X+ would no longer receive updates past Android 4.2.2. If you are aware that those upgrade is done by the last month only which is almost a year after Android 4.2 release. According to HTC, it was a lack of support from NVIDIA that caused them to drop support for the global One X and One X+. Both the global version of HTC One X and One X+ has NVIDIA Tegra 3 inside. But those who bought these devices in US are powered by Qualcomm chipsets. So then what happened to the One X/XL owners in US?



Luckily HTC announces they are “actively exploring” how they can upgrade the HTC One X to Android 4.4 KitKat. Yahoooo! But still nog way to go for the customers. because HTC guys are now in planning and testing mode only!

HTC M8 new details come to light: May be called HTC One+

Evleaks released new details about HTC's M8 yesterday as they suggest HTC's newest flagship phone is rumored to be called the One+. According to Mike1986, a popular ROM developer on XDA (who regularly obtains leaked HTC software builds) we now have some additional info on what we can expect from the HTC One follow-up. HTC One+ it will have a 4.9-5.0 inch Full HD display and a Snapdragon 805 processor under the hood alongside speedier 2GB DDR3 RAM.

Another interesting point is the camera. There will be a 6MP or 8MP camera with double lens on the back which is rumored to be exchangeable. Double lens doesn’t means 3D recording here, it will increase dynamic range and improve picture quality as well. A 2.1MP front camera complete the shooting game with 2,900 mAh battery, a microSD card slot and NFC.



On the software side, we can expect the One+ to have Android 4.4 Kit-Kat out of the box, overlaid with HTC Sense 6. Another interesting fact is that the One+ is rumored to not have any physical buttons, with all of the Android interaction taking place on screen, like the Nexus series.

As always, these are just rumors, so don't take them as gospel just yet. The One+ is speculated to make its debut at Mobile World Congress, from February 24-27 in Barcelona. Don’t forget if HTC once again goes the Google Play edition route, we might have one heck of a Nexus killer on our hands.

HTC One mini gets Android 4.3 update

HTC begins Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update roll out for HTC One mini smartphone which include HTC Sense 5.5. It is almost 50 days after the start of HTC One Android 4.3 update. The update is 630MB in size. It brings a host of improvements and tweaks to the HTC One mini. HTC include the ability create custom feeds in BlinkFeed from new sources, as well as the option to disable the service altogether. The Video Highlights section has been improved as well.
