HTC Incredible S receives Android 2.3.5 with new HTC Sense 3.0

Good news for HTC Incredible S owners. Their droid companion just received Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS with new HTC Sense 3.0 UI. Reports about the OTA update have been coming from several parts of Europe. But it's not a global update yet. But there is no change log in our hand at this moment.

If you don’t see the notification of a software update yet in your HTC Incredible S yet then you can perform a manual check to see if the update has been made available to you by going to Settings -> About phone -> Software Updates and clicking Check Now.

GSMArena also said an Android 2.3.5 firmware update is also coming to the HTC Desire HD in the near future.

Both HTC’s SIM Free Desire HD & Incredible S Get Android 2.3 Update in 2 Days’ Time

Last week we had the news of Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for HTC Desire Z. Now we are very happy to hear some good news from HTC again. They told us that they will give Android 2.3 to their 2 famous handsets at the time, HTC Desire HD and Incredible S. If you bought unlocked SIM free version of any of this 2 handsets then updates starting to knock your door from 16 May.

If you bought your phone from carrier branded channel in US or EU then don’t worry. HTC said that they are working very closely with each operator and will update you (your phone) as soon as possible.

Here is the official statement-

We’ve been pushing this really hard and are pleased to announce that we are aiming to have the HTC Gingerbread update for unlocked HTC Desire HD and HTC Incredible S models available on 16th May 2011. For those waiting for their specific operator update, rest assured that we’re working very closely with each operator to get this just right and will update you as soon as we possibly can. Once again, we really appreciate your support and patience on this.

So it is now clearly visible to us that HTC are working harder than any other mobile phone manufacturers to provide users the latest Android OS update as soon as possible. It’s a good sign. Be a happy Android 2.3 user. Amazon now offering unlocked HTC Desire HD just for $399 and Incredible S for $519.

HTC Desire HD & Incredible S Getting Android 2.3 via OTA in Europe

HTC delivers over the air firmware upgrade for its Desire HD and Incredible S Android 2.2 froyo handsets over the Europe. Your phone will soon receive a notification of FOTA update. Then you have to press ok and the update procedure begins. It is clever to use Wi-Fi connection to update your phone to Android 2.3.

After upgrading software number in your Desire HD will be 2.36.405.5. Moreover, it is 2.12.405.7 for Incredible S. You have to back up all your phone data before upgrading your firmware to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. More details about this firmware upgrade can be found on HTC European site.

HTC Releases Kernel Source Code of Incredible S, T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide & Wildfire

Recently HTC releases kernel source code for three of their latest Android mobile phones. These three handsets are Incredible S, T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide & Wildfire. These source codes are now available for download on their developer portal. If you like to work with your phone then download and experiment codes now. Size of the HTC Incredible S - 2.6.35 kernel source code is 89.5 MB, T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide - Froyo MR -2.6.32 kernel source is 80.2 MB & HTC Wildfire - Froyo MR - 2.6.32 kernel source code is 82.3 MB.

But for the normal users these means nothing, it can’t be used for firmware upgrade of your Android phone.

Android 2.3 is coming to HTC Desire, Desire Z, Desire HD & Incredible S in June

In the MWC this month HTC announced a couple of devices running Google Android OS. Among those HTC Desire S and Wildfire S are coming with latest Android 2.3 gingerbread preloaded. And one of the newly announced phone, Incredible S comes with Android 2.2 installed. Now before the ending of month HTC already assured it users that they will be given Android 2.3 as OTA update by the end of June this year.

However, the good news is if you are year old user of HTC Android mobile phones like original Desire, Desire Z, Desire HD then Android 2.3 update is also waiting for you. HTC will give you this updates in June too. That is awesome.

Amazon German Site Pre-orders HTC Incredible S on €519

Few hours ago in a post i mentioned that Amazon German site pre-orders HTC Desire S mobile phone on €499. And now i come to say that they also offers HTC High Performance Incredible S phone on €519($710). HTC Incredible S also runs Google Android 2.2 froyo (upgradable to v2.3 gingerbread) on 1 GHz Scorpion CPU.

HTC Incredible S mobile phone is better than Desire S phone in both display and camera section. It has a 4.0 inches S-LCD 16M Display with 8 Megapixel camera with 720p video recording capability. These are the main difference between HTC Desire S and HTC Incredible S Android phones.

But unfortunately Amazon Germany doesn’t say anything about HTC Incredible S release date. But we guess that’s not before April. Most of smart phones announced in MWC like LG Optimus 3D, HTC Desire S, Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play will be released in April 2011.
