HTC US made great U-turn – One X may receive KitKat

HTC has never a tradition of upgrading their Android devices regularly. They dumped so many good phone just after one year of service in the past. Well those things have a chance to change in future. HTC has formally announced their new commitment to support all future flagship devices with major updates for 2 years after they’ve been released. Don’t start your celebration yet. Because so far this upgrade rules will be applicable for US only! Damn good strategy – isn’t it?

Let’s discuss the whole scenario with you. Earlier HTC announced that the HTC One X and One X+ would no longer receive updates past Android 4.2.2. If you are aware that those upgrade is done by the last month only which is almost a year after Android 4.2 release. According to HTC, it was a lack of support from NVIDIA that caused them to drop support for the global One X and One X+. Both the global version of HTC One X and One X+ has NVIDIA Tegra 3 inside. But those who bought these devices in US are powered by Qualcomm chipsets. So then what happened to the One X/XL owners in US?



Luckily HTC announces they are “actively exploring” how they can upgrade the HTC One X to Android 4.4 KitKat. Yahoooo! But still nog way to go for the customers. because HTC guys are now in planning and testing mode only!

AT&T drops HTC One X price to $99 on contract

Just a couple of day’s back we first heard the rumors of an upcoming price-drop for the HTC One X. Luckily it turns out he was indeed speaking the truth. AT&T has announced that it will be dropping the price of HTC One X. The device will be on sell just for $99 with a new 2-year contract. The sale will start from this Sunday.

The HTC One X is surely the only competitor to Samsung Galaxy S III in the market. And with this huge price reduction, it surely now have the edge over Samsung. But it’s unclear how long it will last. It will be marketed as a back to school deal, so it may expire after August or September. So you better hurry.

RadioShack preorders HTC One X for $149 only

Earlier I reported that AT&T will start pre-ordering HTC One X from 22 April for $200. But before that date I have good news for you. RadioShack also offers the same handset to you, but there price is $50 lower than AT&T. The latest LTE HTC smartphone will set you back just $149 on a two-year contract. RadioShack is also ready to throw in free downloads of seven Coldplay songs, including an exclusive live recording of "Charlie Brown" to sweeten up the deal.

As AT&T told us earlier, shipments are scheduled to arrive on May 6.

AT&T offers HTC One X for $200 from May 6

AT&T officially announced the pricing and availability of the 4G Android HTC One X. Interested one can place pre-order from April 22, with retail availability scheduled for May 6. And luckily enough for us they are not charging more than $199.99. HTC One X requires a new 2-yr wireless agreement with voice (min $39.99/mo) and min monthly data plan ($20/mo). I feared earlier that they will ask $250-300 for this giant.

As you probably know, the HTC One X for AT&T differs significantly from its international version. The U.S. bound device packs a Snapdragon S4 chipset with two Krait cores, clocked at 1.5GHz - a sharp departure from the Tegra 3 of the international version.

How can you get the most of HTC One X battery power

HTC One X is surely the one of best Android handsets around the globe. But if there is one thing that a lot of people are having a problem with on the phone is with its battery life. Now somebody else that HTC solved the problem. A developer of xda-developers forums has found out that the poor battery life is due to an issue with the Nvidia Tegra 3 power management controls. The power control app, NvCPLSvc.apk, has been placed in the system/bin folder instead of the system/app folder. All you need to do is move this folder to its rightful location. By only doing this you can see 10-20 percent boost in battery life, according to users.

HTC One series Android phone is now official - One X is top on the list

To showcase an attention to three distinct areas of detail: top-notch imaging, integrated Beats audio and industrial design; HTC announced ‘One’ brand for all of their Android phones. It’s like Samsung galaxy series I think. And HTC are kind enough to officially announce their MWC line-up of Android smartphones. There are four in the queue- HTC One X and One XL, the mid-range One S, and the starter One V. I will only cover HTC One X in this post. The HTC One X is a unibody device machined from white polycarbonate that uses Gorilla Glass to protect its 4.7-inch 1280x720 non-pentile Super LCD 2 display. Stunning outside appearances aside, HTC's newest features an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor for the Global edition and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core for the LTE iteration. The One X is the most powerful Android smartphone HTC have built to date. It's quite slim, too, measuring only 9,29mm.

Memory specs on the box show 1GB DDR2 and 32GB of built-in storage, 26GB of which is available to the user and an additional 25GB free for two years through DropBox.

At the back, the One X sports an 8MP snapper, which packs a special Dual Shutter camera module, which allows you to take photos while shooting 1080p video at the same time. The main camera itself rocks a 22mm wide angle lens. At the heart of its 8MP f/2.0 camera section is HTC's ImageChip silicon for clearer shots even in low light conditions.

Connectivity options abound with quad-band GSM and quad-band 42Mbps HSPA+ - which includes AWS frequencies. NFC, DLNA, Bluetooth 3, Wi-Fi N, 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB with MHL are on board, too. One X also got Beats Audio enhancement, so music through that 3.5mm jack should sound extra nice.
