Motorola RAZR and RAZR MAXX has identical ROM inside

Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX has the bigger battery from its older brothers but it turns out that are more similar to those inside. The Android source discovered that both the RAZR and RAZR MAXX are running on the same ROM. What this means is that in the future if you get a ROM update any of these devices, you can easily flash to another without any modification.

As usual with these things, there could be some risk, but as observed by the people of The Source for Android by flashing the MAXX RAZR with a ROM, things seem pretty simple in this case.

Motorola RAZR ICS ROM leaked

An ICS ROM for Motorola GSM version has been leaked online which gives an idea of what we might expect later in the year starts rolling out officially. At first glance, it looks almost stock, but especially because it is still developing and there is much work to do.

Only visible changes are a new lock screen that has four custom points where you can drag the lock icon and the possibility of putting the phone to silent or vibrate, it takes a lot of ROM ICS file. Also new is a camera application that is similar to the current ROM Gingerbread for the RAZR.

Developer edition of Motorola RAZR XT910 released

Motorola is facing intense pressure from users to unlock their devices, and it seems the mobile giant, can finally give in. Motorola announced that it will release unlock able RAZR and with the instructions on how to unlock / relock the device, locate the building instructions and how to access additional developers resources only for 499 euro. It’s now only available in EU, there’s no word when it will be released in US too.

Unlocked Motorola RAZR price is Rs 33900 in India

One of the top online selling sites, Flipkart brings unlocked SIM free version of Motorola RAZR in India. It’s already in there stock. You just need to spend Rs 33900 ($696) for buying it with one 1 year manufacturer warranty. They also offer Galaxy Note in India for Rs 34,990 ($696). But it is not available yet. I am also pretty sure that sometimes in November Samsung Galaxy Nexus will also be available in India. So it really becomes very hard to choose your next smartphone.

Rogers offering Motorola RAZR for only $150 on contract

It is now no secret that Motorola RAZR is the 1st biggest release by Motorola Mobility after Google acquisition. It will be available all over the world before the end of November. In Canada Rogers is going to offer this exclusive handset to its customers. If you are wishing to buy Android 2.3 running RAZR without any contract then the asking price is $649.99. But in a 3-year contract Rogers is selling the device for only $149.99. But unfortunately no release date and details are not written on the Rogers website. Motorola offers RAZR in South Africa; Vodacom joins the party too

RAZR is one of the best appealing handset around the world for a very long time. In 2011 we saw the face of smartphone under RAZR belt. And Motorola had blown our head again this time with Android inside. I already wrote a couple of articles about Motorola RAZR in the past few days. European version of Motorola DROID RAZR is official- coming in November

After a week of Verizon Motorola DRODI RAZR announcement, Motorola make the European version of Droid RAZR Android smartphone official. Dropping the Droid part of its name, the Motorola RAZR is every bit as hot as its US version. The Motorola RAZR is among the slimmest Android smartphones on the planet with its thinnest part measuring just 7.1mm.

The impressive profile is complemented by a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced screen of qHD resolution (960 x 540 pixels). According to Motorola the Super AMOLED Advanced technology is 25% more efficient than the Super AMOLED Plus display used in the Samsung Galaxy S II.

As for raw computing power, the Motorola RAZR is powered by a OMAP 4430 chipset with a 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor and 1GB of RAM. The Motorola RAZR platform of choice is Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, but its manufacturer has vowed to update it to the newly announced Ice Cream Sandwich in Q1 or Q2 of 2012.

And obviously we don’t know the price of Motorola RAZR yet in UK or any other countries. But I expect a price of £450+ is what you can expect.

Motorola DROID RAZR will be the 1st phone having unlocked bootloader

Motorola's Enterprise Mobile Devices GM Christy Wyatt stated this weekend that the international version, just called the RAZR, would be Motorola's first phone since the crackdowns to have the option of unlocking the bootloader. It was up to the carriers, Wyatt said, and Verizon had chosen to disable the feature. She told this great news to Ausdroid.

She expected that most of the bootloader unlocking would come after Android 4.0 ICS upgrades. Carriers too have the option of deciding whether or not to upgrade the OS, although the phone's release just before Android 4.0 is makes it probable that most carriers will at least roll out the patch.

Motorola is also working to have a list of the models that will be unlocked displayed on their motodev.com website. The Motorola RAZR which will be announced later this month in Australia is now the first phone to include the fully implemented lock/unlock bootloader software in it. Same treatment goes for the international version too.

Verizon hasn't explained why it has taken away the option to unlock the bootloader, although it's likely to prevent malware attacks that might modify low-level code.

Verizon chooses micro SIM card latest LTE phones

Verizon Wireless seems very much with lots of powerful smartphones. And if you were paying close attention this past week to a couple of choice devices being announced on the Verizon 4G LTE network, you may have noticed something new: micro SIM cards running LTE! They are now receiving their first LTE-capable micro SIM cards, as SlashGear reported.

It very simply takes up less physical space than full-sized SIM cards and should help in the creation of ever-smaller hardware. The source spotted the Samsung Stratosphere and the Motorola Droid RAZR sporting the smaller network cards. Verizon first used the micro SIM LTE cards in the Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE.
