Samsung already gave us there word on Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S II, now we are sure than ever after SamMobile guys reported that, Samsung is now testing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on their Galaxy S II handsets, and its working perfectly. It will be released to the public within 1-2 months and you have to download it via KIES.

There’s one more good news I have to write for you. If everything goes according to plan, then Samsung Galaxy Note users will also get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean by the time. So if you badly need a note now, don’t waste your time for the Galaxy Note 2.

I think it’s now wiser for me to write down some notes about Galaxy S III why it is superior to Galaxy S II.

5. Though its .1mm thicker than S II but the thickness is much more uniform
6. You can shoot photos while recording Full HD video

8. Voice call camera is capable of taking 720p video @30fps
9. Supports wireless charging by Samsung itself
10. Better battery backup, having 450mAh more than its predecessor

But it’s not the full picture. Though Samsung made Galaxy S II one year ago, but it has some quality feature which are still better than Samsung.

1. 1GB of RAM, which is same as Galaxy S III
2. 17 grams lighter than Galaxy S III
3. Galaxy S III has no regular SIM slot, but Galaxy S II has
4. Super AMOLED Plus screen which has a full set of subpixels
5. Almost equally good camera with 1080 HD video recording
6. And Galaxy S II is much cheaper than new Galaxy S III

I know that it’s quite unwise to compare two smartphone over a year age difference. But Samsung made their Galaxy S series smartphones with tons of features, older phones are better than most of the current phones in the market. So if you don’t have the money of buying Samsung Galaxy S III, don’t worry, just go for Galaxy S II.

T-Mobile will update all Galaxy S II handsets with ICs from June 11th

Though Samsung released Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS to Samsung Galaxy S II handset quite a while ago it didn’t officially launch on US devices till now. No major mobile carriers yet to update their Galaxy S II US variants. After some quite time T-Mobile will host the first US version of the Samsung Galaxy S II to receive its upgrade to Android 4.0. They announced this good new via there Twitter account. The software upgrade will be released via Samsung Kies starting June 11th. Unfortunately, it's not an OTA refresh as we'd prefer. Samsung Galaxy S II I9100G gets ICS update at last

I know that some of you will be very surprised to see the title. Because Samsung Galaxy S II received Android ICS update back in March 2012. So why am I writing this? Because Samsung Galaxy S II has a TI OMAP 4430 chipset based version which is I9100G. It only receives the firmware upgrade just now in several countries around the world. ICS for Samsung Galaxy S II is now out

At last official Android 4.0 ICS firmware for Samsung Galaxy S II is released by Samsung itself. Samsung Mobile's official Facebook page announced the news that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has officially made its way to Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II. The update is currently seeding to devices in Europe, as well as Korea. The rest of the world will follow very soon.

Android ICS OS will be soon available on Samsung Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, and Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1. The older members of the Galaxy family on the other hand, will receive updates to their Gingerbread firmware, which will bring some ICS functionality to it.

Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy S II will receive ICS in March

The development of the Android 4.0 update Ice Cream Sandwich to the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note is obviously progressing according to schedule. The Norwegian branch of the South Korean company has just confirmed that the update is due to arrive later this quarter, which means that there are only a couple of months left before the wait is over.

The Ice Cream Sandwich update will bring a lot of new features to the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note, including a new task manager, better browser notification manager and greatly improved both in terms of functionality and performance.

Samsung users see the leak of 2 new Android ICS ROM for Galaxy S II

Samsung Galaxy S users see a lot drama surrounding its Ice Cream Sandwich update. After so many official news are now confirmed that it won’t see Android 4.0 in its lifetime, at least not from Samsung. But there is no confusion about Samsung Galaxy S II and its ICS update. Samsung guys are working hard to the new Android 4.0 with their TouchWiz UI for the i9100 Galaxy S II.

Proofs for this are two official Samsung Galaxy S II Android 4.0 ROMs that have leaked. Samsung releases Galaxy S II HD LTE in South Korea, its white

Samsung just released two very exclusive version of there blockbuster Samsung Galaxy S II. There are many things common in these two variants. Most of all, they are white. I think this info is enough to make you mad for these babies.

The Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE comes in all of its 4.65" Super AMOLED 1280x720 glory with a dual-core 1.5 GHz and, naturally LTE connectivity speeds. The Galaxy S II LTE has a 4.5" 480x800 display, which is about the only difference between the two. They should both be available on SK Telecom as previously told but on HSDPA and LTE, sans the CDMA.

I am really looking forward to see these phones outside South Korea in near future. Christmas is a great time but i fear that’s not gonna happen!

Samsung Galaxy S II is heading towards Orange in France, has NFC built-in

Orange France is continuing its NFC push by including a top end droid - an NFC-enabled Samsung Galaxy S II. It will be part of their Cityzi line, joining the likes of the Wave 578. Cityzi has over 150,000 users and lets you use your phone as a public transport pass or for shopping in partner stores.

Orange France will be getting the NFC-enabled Galaxy S II first - that would happen sometime in October and there's a chance that the handset will be called I9101 Galaxy S II. The NFC-capable Galaxy S II for Orange France will use a special SIM card to enable the Cityzi features and ensure secure transactions. After France the NFC Galaxy S II will be hitting other countries, but there's no official timetable for that.

NFC aside, there will be no changes to the S II specs - that means 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 4.3" SuperAMOLED Plus screen, 8MP camera and so on. There's no pricing info yet, nor an exact launch date.

LTE enable Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 will hit Europe in December, Galaxy S II LTE scheduled for 2012

Samsung has announced an LTE version of their popular Galaxy S II smartphone as well as the Galaxy Tab 8.9 for European market. The Galaxy S II LTE will feature an updated hardware, the CPU clock speed will be bumped to 1.5GHz from the 1.2GHz on the current model and the display will be taken to 4.5-inch from the 4.3-inch on the standard Galaxy S II.

The LTE model will be launched in Europe in the second quarter of 2012 on T-Mobile’s network. The delay is due to the fact that T-Mobile’s LTE network is currently not equipped to handle voice calls. Also, the device itself is not ready to go on sale at the moment.

As for the Galaxy Tab 8.9, it is slated to go on sale in December this year, the lack of voice support on the current LTE network not being an issue for a tablet. But before making all these things possible, Samsung has to survive all the present and future Apple bites first!

Samsung ships 2000mAh extended battery for Galaxy S II, you must need it

We’ve got some great news for those the Samsung Galaxy S II owners. Just before one days of US release of Samsung Galaxy S II on US, Samsung has just released an official extended battery for the dual-core beast that has 2000 mAh worth of power, for those who feel 1650mAh is less for Galaxy S II. The 2000mAh battery is rated to give a talk time of up to 11.8 hours on 2G and 6 hours on 3G.

The extended battery kit hasn’t been confirmed by Samsung but is apparently on sale on a Czech shop where it retails for $33. The price that needs to be paid for the extra endurance is an increase in thickness of 1.5mm over the original 1650 mAh battery. Naturally, the new thicker battery doesn’t fit under the old battery cover, so Samsung is shipping the new battery with a replacement back panel.

From the first photos of those replacement covers, provided by the xda-developers forum, they won’t be making the phone much thicker overall – they just level the slim back with the previously protruding camera lens and chin.

Samsung unveils Galaxy S II for AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint US

Well, it's been a long time coming, but people of US are finally getting Samsung Galaxy S II handset. Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T are all getting in on the Super AMOLED Plus action under the guise of the Epic 4G Touch on Sprint and just plain old Galaxy S II on AT&T and T-Mobile. Verizon is not willing to give Galaxy S II flavors to their customers and we heard they are moving to next Google Phone, Samsung Nexus Prime.

The AT&T version of the Galaxy S II won't have a name of its own. It goes by Samsung Galaxy S II, just like the international version of the smartphone and will basically be carrying the same hardware. The only hardware differences are in the exterior, most notably the controls at the front, where four touch-sensitive keys have replaced the two touch keys and a regular button combo. On the inside you are getting HSPA+ connectivity and the same Exynos chipset as the original Galaxy S II. The Super AMOLED Plus screen stands at the same 4.3", and the TouchWiz-skinned Android 2.3.4 is also a part of the standard equipment.

At this stage we didn't get any details about the AT&T-bound Galaxy S II pricing or availability.

The T-Mobile Galaxy S II will come with a pretty big difference compared to the international version. It will be carrying a 4.52" Super AMOLED Plus, which is no minor difference. In fact the difference from 4.3" to 4.52" is quite noticeable even if you don't put the handsets side by side. The Galaxy S II versions with the smaller screens seem much easier to handle, though.

T-Mobile also remains silent about expected availability or pricing of their Galaxy S II, too.

The Galaxy S II edition for the Sprint network is probably the most interesting of the bunch. Not only does it have a unique name, but it also has WiMax connectivity and the same larger 4.52” Super AMOLED Plus screen as the T-Mobile version. The Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch will also feature a larger battery - 1800 mAh vs 1650 mAh for the AT&T and international Galaxy S II varieties. The price you have to pay is a slightly thicker shell, but we didn't find that to make such big difference when we handled the phone.

This will also be the first edition of the Samsung flagship smartphone to actually become available in the states. The Epic 4G Touch will be hitting Sprint stores starting on September 16th for $200 on a contract.
