As it is expected 55% of those who purchased a new handset in the past three months reported buying a smartphone instead of a feature phone in USA. Nielsen’s May survey of mobile consumers in the US told us these numbers. A year ago the percentage was 34%. Survey also told us 38% US citizen now own smartphones.
The report also said Android continues to be the most popular smartphone operating system, with 38 percent of smartphone consumers owning Android devices. However, the Apple iPhone played better in recent months. And Apple iPhone 4 is the best-selling mobile phone model.
It may bring a big change of the mobile networking circle. More and more users will fall in love with mobile social app to build the circle and connect the circle. It will obviously change people’s behavior, in some points. It is also good news for mobile carriers, social-networking companies and app developers.
