Xiaomi, the Chinese company that makes phones with specs that top Samsung and Apple flagships, and then sells them at half the price, repeat the process again. At a media event in China, Xiaomi unveiled the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus. Both phones offer high-end internals with the Plus variant getting 6GB of RAM, and dual 13MP cameras at the back, and will go up on sale in China starting this Thursday. The fingerprint sensor on the Xiaomi Mi 5s is one of the highlights of the device, as this is one of the first examples of an under-glass fingerprint solution on a smartphone. However, using an ultrasonic sensor should mean more accurate fingerprint readings for the Mi 5s. Leaks prior to the phone's announcement suggested the company is using Qualcomm's ultrasonic technology, which it's claimed makes it easy to scan your finger even when they're dirty or wet.
Xiaomi Mi 5s
As you might imagine, the specs on these things are top notch. The Xiaomi Mi 5s has a 5.15-inch, Full HD screen, a 2.15GHz Snapdragon 821 chip. Xiaomi Mi 5s packs 3,200 mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0 technology. It supports 4G, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, dual-band MU-MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi and 3xCA network connectivity. The smartphone will be available in silver, gold, gray and rose gold colour variants.
It a 12-megapixel rear camera, and a 4-megapixel selfie cam with an f/2.0 aperture and 2-micron pixels. For those who reside in China, you'll be able to pre-order on September 29th, with the base model (64GB storage with 3GB of RAM) asking for the usual 1,999 yuan (about $300) and the high-end version (128GB storage with 4GB of RAM) going for 2,299 yuan (about $345).

Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus has a larger 5.7-inch full HD display (1920×1080 pixels). The front camera on Mi 5s Plus is the same as that on Mi 5s. Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus runs 2.15GHz Snapdragon 821 processor. The battery in Mi 5s Plus is 3,800 mAh and the smartphone supports QuickCharge 3.0 technology.
Xiaomi is touting dual rear camera setup of Mi 5s Plus. It features a 13MP+13MP camera lens with f/2.2 aperture. And just like Huawei P9, this one comes with a monochrome mode as well. The dual camera setup in Mi 5s Plus is designed in such a manner that it doesn’t jut out.
