LG G Flex 2 will be available in India from end of March for Rs 55,000

LG has launched their latest flagship smartphone - the LG G Flex2 - in India. The phone is priced at Rs. 55,000 ($878) and will be available later this month. LG is only launching the 32GB model in India. It will be available in Flamenco Red and Platinum Silver.

The LG G Flex 2 was introduced at CES earlier this year, and as the name suggests, its USP is the self-healing back. The company has made quite a few improvements and the back can now heal itself in just 10 seconds, as compared to three minutes on its predecessor. Additionally, the company also claims that the flexible display is now 20 percent more durable than before.



The LG G Flex 2 features a new 5.5-inch Full HD curved P-OLED display, Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage space with microSD support, 13 megapixel rear camera with OIS and laser autofocus, 2.1 megapixel front facing camera and Android 5.0 Lollipop. The phone has a 3,000mAh battery in a frame that measures 9.4mm and weighs 152 grams. LG claims that you can recharge the battery to 50 per cent charge in about 40 mins.

LG also announced the availability of the world’s first 5K television in India with the magic remote and running TV Web OS. The premium television will be priced Rs 59,99,900. The company has also updated its smart inverter range of refrigerators with Smart Connect which switches on inverter mode when there is a drop in voltage or a power cut.

LG G Flex 2 is up for grab in UK with free BT speaker

UK retailer Carphone Warehouse has just announced that pre-orders for the LG G Flex 2 in black are now available. Previously slated for February 28, however, Carphone Warehouse has decided to jump the gun on this one. The well known retailer is giving you the opportunity to pre-order the G Flex 2 with contracts from Vodafone, O2, and EE. To help sweeten the deal, you'll receive a free LG P7 Bluetooth speaker and QuickCircle case. This bundle is apparently a £150 value.



The handset can be yours for free with plans starting at £34.50 per month. For that amount Vodafone will give you 600 any network UK minutes, unlimited texts, and 1GB of 4G data. Obviously though, there are many more options, going as high as £58.50 per month. That particular plan is also at Vodafone, and it brings you unlimited minutes and texts along with 10GB of 4G data each month.

Pre-orders are currently expected to start shipping during or before the week commencing on March 16. So you still have some waiting to do if you're after the G Flex 2 in the UK.

LG officially announces G Flex 2 global release schedule

LG has announced the global rollout of its second curved Android smartphone the G Flex 2, which was unveiled during this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) at Las Vegas. The G Flex 2 is already available to buy in South Korea from January, customers in other markets will only get it in March.

The handset will be available from major carriers in the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany and the U.K.initially, with other markets across Asia, North and South Americas and Europe getting access to the device in the weeks following MWC. The device is up for pre-order in the UK, and will go on sale in Singapore starting March 14. Over in the US, the smartphone will be available through Sprint on March 13.



Besides being powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, the LG G Flex 2 offers plenty of other attractive features. Like last year's G Flex, the new smartphone has a curved, flexible body, and a self-healing back cover. Its screen is a 5.5-inch 1080p one, while Android 5.0 KitKat comes pre-installed. Other features include a 13 MP rear camera with laser auto focus, 3 GB of RAM, and a 3000 mAh battery with fast charging capabilities.
