Relation Between Games and Studies

This infographic explains the importance of games in the educational system. The question, whether the games should be brought in the classroom or not is worth asking primarily because gaming is associated most of the times with fun activities, and most parents are suspicious that whether games will be helpful in educational pursuits. The infographic answers this question by explaining the changing trends in the world. For instance, traditional ways of learning are no longer sufficient, and the impact of technology in our lives is gradually increasing. In today’s world, children are grown up with the constant awareness of technological gadgets, and they start playing game sat very early age, and this is exactly what makes them different from the older generations.

There are three primary reasons to bring games in the classroom: the first one is that the games are user-friendly and as kids love playing games, they will be able to learn a lot more by this method. The other more important reason is that children are more familiar with games than anything else in their early childhood. Therefore, instead of bombarding children with so many formal books – which will be horrendous for children – if we give them games which feature educational content, the learning rate of children will increase significantly.

Initially, it was believed that gaming is very dangerous for studies, and with the passage of time, and as more and more educational content was introduced in the games, most people now believe that gaming can be helpful for education as well. Whether this is the first group – which disagrees with the educational capacity of gaming – or the second – which agrees – both of them have no idea about how actually the process of learning via gaming helps us. For this matter, the infographic explains the research of a famous doctor Paul Howard Jones, who conducted some research on how games help children learn.

According to Paul, games help us in three different ways: the first and the most important thing is that games stimulate the brain to produce more and more dopamine, and as dopamine is connected to creativity and is responsible for making countless connections between neurons in our mind, it is considered a highly helpful thing. It is important to mention that “the memory of our brain works on the associate power of connections, therefore, more the associations, the stronger our memory,” says Kyle Ward, a senior game developer at Game Period. Thus, in turn, the stronger the connections, the more efficient will be the physical basis for learning.

Another thing that we get from games is the motivational level. We are always motivated to do things that we like, and if we don’t like anything, our motivation goes down to a minimum, and we perform worst in those situations. As children love playing games, their motivation in this activity is significantly higher than if they are reading a book. Therefore, many people want this motivation channelized in a positive way. This can be done by introducing educational content in games.

Baseball Scorekeeping Joins the 21st Century with GameChanger

There was a time when nothing was more sacred than going to a baseball game, getting a hot dog and keeping score in the stands. Children from past generations would enter the gates at their favorite baseball stadium and immediately ask their parents to get a scorecard and pencil, so that they could track every play. In the days before YouTube, Wikipedia and baseball reference sites, keeping score was one of the only ways to look back on games and remember what happened – batter to batter.

As technology advanced the art of scorekeeping faded from popular use, and now many fans don’t know what a backwards “K”, “HPB” or a “6-4-3 DP” means. To help bring scorekeeping back to the 21st Century, GameChanger has launched apps for iOS and Android. GameChanger, available for free, is the leading digital scorekeeping app that also helps amateur baseball and softball teams stay organized and informed.

GameChanger features an easy-to-use tutorial that guides even the most inexperienced users step-by-step and pitch-by-pitch. With one click, users simply have to select the virtual field on the screen and a set of dropdown menus will allow them to input the play. The app keeps track of all the action, so that users can review the game anytime, anywhere. In-game stats include everything from pitch counts to first-pitch strike percentage.

Android drives mobile gaming successes

If you threw out the term “mobile gaming” 10 years ago, well, it wasn't really something you’d throw out there. That’s because advanced mobile devices flooding the consumer market today, a fairly recent emergence in the past two decades, are now driving the overall video gaming industry and enabling successes specifically within the mobile arena. Android devices like tablets, phablets, smartphones as well as virtual reality headsets are in the driver’s seat of the gaming game and power the ultra-engaging visual adventure.

There are approximately a billion Android devices being used in the world, and the impressive widespread adoption of the modern technology has pushed mobile game publishers to expand their demographic to not only entertain the traditional teenage-gamer nerd but almost every type of human being, moms and doctors alike. The types of games range from social-oriented ones such as Words with Friends, which calls for players to interact with others over a social platform, to serious games like educational applications that can activate, exercise and strengthen cognitive abilities, and not to be forgotten, many classic action-packed video games normally housed on the old-school console are now being brought to a mobile setting. All of these complex applications call for extremely advanced technology built inside device hardware. Mobile devices with Snapdragon processors equip compact Android machines to power the most superior experience possible that includes extra crisp visuals, sharp sound effects and smooth functionality required for the intricate, interactive activity.

How Android drives mobile gaming successes

One android-based gaming gadget generating significant tech buzz is the Gear VR (Innovator Edition), a virtual reality headset developed by Oculus. The headset attaches to the Samsung GALAXY Note 4 and users can then plunge into a virtual world like no other. Forward-thinking innovation within mobile gaming is being pushed because of the capabilities Android technology presents.

At Google’s I/O fest this year, the star of the show seemed to be Android and was heavily suggested as the future of innovation. Executives pitched that the mobile operating software is the fueling force behind forthcoming connected devices. Because of the operating system’s strong presence and partnerships with technological pioneers, Samsung amongst others, potential for increasing growth in gaming applications will thrive.

Game publishers will continue to create games for a growing mobile audience. In particular, the healthcare industry is starting to integrate gaming to benefit those who provide medical attention and those who seek it. Practitioners within the field can utilize mobile applications to develop their skills in various medical procedures and also expand their knowledge in medicine. Patients equally are beginning to benefit from their use of mobile devices and the games available. For instance, apps that help players strengthen day-to-day brain functions are proving to be an effective measure to prevent against certain diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

The widespread accessibility to Android-run systems has resulted in a complete overhaul of the mobile app market space. Individual developers and smaller organizations now have the same resources giant game publishers once solely held to produce successful entertainment that reaches the masses. Games like Draw Something, a mobile game that transitioned the pen-and-paper way of Pictionary to the mobile screen, reached overnight, viral popularity and was produced by a smaller developer OMGPop.

So long as there is Android to execute mobile gaming, the mobile game industry will remain on the same path to achieving even more success. By 2017, the global gaming industry is projected to generate $102.9 billion in revenues largely in part due to its mobile component. And because of the powerful mobile device Android technology backing it up, the fiscal predication is likely to hold true.

Best Android Devices for Mobile Gaming

If you haven't noticed, mobile games are on a bit of a tear as of late. Actually, they've been on a bit of a tear for the last several years. And there doesn't appear to be any end in sight.

Last year alone, mobile games accounted for $14.9 billion in revenue, with so-called “midcore” games accounting for $3.8 billion of that total. Mobile games are incredibly popular, and the numbers show that gamers aren't just interested in simple titles like “Candy Crush;” they're seeking a more robust user experience, with improved graphics and more involved gameplay.

This increase in the popularity of midcore game titles has been made possible in part through improvements in mobile technology. When smartphones first hit the market around 2007, graphics capabilities were limited. As such, a lot of the mobile titles at the time relied on relatively rudimentary graphics. With the advent of such mobile technologies as Snapdragon's mobile processor, manufactured by computing giant Qualcomm, this is no longer the case.

iPhone 6 or Note 4 - Which is better for gaming?

The devices below can provide a gaming experience not all that different from what is currently available on console devices (cue the hardcore gamers interjecting). If you're a gamer and in the market for an Android mobile device, you can't beat these options.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge
One of the newest smartphones on the market, the Galaxy Note Edge is unique in that its screen extends over the bezel of the phone, providing for an all-new user experience and navigation functionality. Beyond the clever screen design, however, the Galaxy Note Edge is also an incredibly powerful device. With Snapdragon's mobile processor – the latest 805 series, specifically – it is the smartphone of choice for gamers. This device is one of the few on the market that can support 4K Ultra HD graphics – it is, simply, revolutionary.

LG G3
With a large, edge-to-edge display that has brilliantly clear colors and high resolution, the LG G3 is a tremendously appealing device for gamers. With a Snapdragon 801 processor, the G3 enables an advanced mobile gaming experience. The processor supports 3D gaming and incredible graphics performance while preserving power for improved battery life over time. The LG G3 is the rare device that manages to offer it all – performance, usability, and looks.

Sony Experia Z3 Tablet
Slotting right in between traditional 10” tablets and smartphones with their 4”, 4.5” and even 6” displays, the 8” Sony Experia Z3 tablet is perfect for gamers who are looking for a device that will meet all of their gaming needs – yet can easily be thrown into a carry-all, backpack, purse or briefcase. And perfect for gamers the Experia Z3 is. With Snapdragon's 801 mobile processor, the Experia Z3 supports Sony's PS4 Remote Play2. If that isn't evidence that the device has been built with gamers in mind, what is?

Amazon Kindle HDX 8.9
The Amazon Kindle is a device not short on features or performance. With Snapdragon's 800 mobile processor, the Kindle supports 4K Ultra HD video playback and capture, and provides incredible graphics and gaming performance. Beyond that, the Kindle HDX 8.9 is an incredibly useful and appealing tablet. With apps, software and hardware all in close harmony with one another, it provides an intuitive, satisfying and complete user experience.

For Gamers, the Choices are Many
Now is the time to be a gamer. Console devices are more powerful than ever, yes, but what's perhaps even more impressive is how robust the mobile gaming experience has become. For many, mobile gaming is simply gaming – there's no need for any distinction. And this is because the capabilities of mobile devices continue to improve. Snapdragon's mobile processor allows for faster speeds, more colors, and better graphics, and displays are finally being built that can make best use of these graphics. Ultra HD displays in your pocket; who would have thought?

The controls on the side work only if you install ROMs of classic games but for titles found on the Android Market you will have to rely on the touchscreen.
