HTC sales and profit is higher than we expected

With a handy number of good and better android phones, HTC managed to see one of their best quarters in recent history. Mainly HTC Sensation XE, Sensation XL and the HTC Rhyme help the company to achieve emotional connection between the customers and the HTC brand. Taiwanese company HTC are easily able to meet their Q3 targets as the sales volumes and profits kept climbing. HTC shipped 13.2 million devices over the three months, bringing in $4.54 billion of revenue. Both of those numbers compare favorably to the ones achieved in the same quarter of 2010, representing a growth of 93% and 68% respectively. Naturally, the increase in sales reflected on the net income, which is $625 million, up 7% over Q2 of 2011 and 68% over Q3 of 2010.

But after all this HTC expect to ship 12-13 million devices in the final quarter of the year, which is less than what they managed to push in Q3. The revenue also expected to fall slightly. HTC will move on to Ice Cream Sandwich too

While Sony Ericsson clearly said that they will move on latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS sooner or later. But HTC is very quiet until now. Now they give us a quick update via their Facebook page in regards to Ice Cream Sandwich coming to their devices. Essentially, the update provided no update at all as the statement repeats sentiments often put forth by PR folks when questioned on whether or not certain devices will see certain software.

T-Mobile myTouch 4G Gets Android 2.3 Update on July 20

T-Mobile are ready to bring Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread on HTC made T-Mobile myTouch 4G. The update procedure will be started from 20th July. But mass update program will start within weeks from now. And it will take a couple of months to complete the update procedure on all handsets.

Apple Filed New Lawsuit against HTC Androids

HTC after suing Samsung and Amazon, Apple has filed another lawsuit against the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC. Apple now indicating dozen of Android running mobile phone and Flyer tablet. Apple is aiming to block the sales of those Android devices it claims are infringing on Apple’s patents. Sales of HTC phones are huge in last 2 years. In April 2011, the company's market value surpassed that of Nokia to become the third largest smartphone maker in the world, only behind Apple and Samsung, which make it to become the biggest rival of Apple. So it is clear that because of the fear to Android, and as the biggest Android smartphone manufacturer Apple is doing this to protect their US market.

The patents in question are the same ones that are used in another complaint against Samsung – patents for scrolling operations, programmable tactile touch-screen displays, a double-sided touch-sensitive panel, a patent for scrolling, zooming and rotating content on a screen, and one that concerns portable computers. While all the today's mobile phone have all these functions. Is there any other way to do so? In Apple’s mind, the rivals’ devices are much better than the iPhone, especially Samsung’s Galaxy II smartphone and HTC’s Sensation, plus their tablets are good enough to make a huge impact to Apple’s iPad 2. Due to its fears for HTC and Android, Apple is now going after everybody, it sure sounds like it wants to be the only smartphone manufacturer left standing when the dust settles.

Apple is not shy about dragging its competitors before the ITC over patent disputes again and again. It would be an absolute shame if the strongest competitor to the iPhone was barred from the U.S. for having some OS similarities. People would rather see Apple win the mobile war by offering a better product, not a better legal strategy. But i think it is not possible to block Android in US or other place. Because people love it!

HTC EVO 3D is Heading for Europe, Vodafone UK Pre-order Campaign Starts already

HTC at last officially announce that EVO 3D Android handset will be available in Europe from July. After just one day Vodafone UK includes the phone on their site. They are now marking the phone as ‘Coming Soon’. You can register for updates there. Vodafone also launched an EVO 3D commercial. You can see it in Youtube. They are not telling anything about its price or specific release date at this point.

HTC Officially Announces No More Locked Bootloaders

Vodafone AU HTC Legend Users Get Android 2.2 Froyo Update Via OTA
