Gingerbread for Motorola DROID 2 is not Ready Yet

Earlier this week Verizon Wireless says that an Android 2.3 Gingerbread is going to hit Motorola DROID 2 handset soon. But now Motorola says that the Gingerbread for DROID 2 is not prepared yet. They announced it via their forum. Forum Manager Matt answered one’s question with that-

I'm not sure where the confusion is coming from, but the tweets being posted here appear to be premature. The Droid 2 Global update is not rolling out at this time. Sorry for misinformation -- we are looking into it.
(And no, I can't give you any information on when.)

It’s really very sad news. DROID 2 owners need the latest firmware badly to utilize there phone’s power properly.
